Nearly everyone wears slippers. They are exceptionally easy to make. You can make pairs for yourself, your family or your friends. They are superb gifts for men, women, boys and girls and for babies, too. For you to have made slippers for yourself or to give as a gift adds ever so much to their sentimental value. They become special
slippers, the pair that was made especially for someone. Simple serviceable types of slippers may be made in a short time. Much thought, time and patience can be lavished on fancier types. Slipper making is a highly pleasing and practical hobby.
Slipper Making Tools
Very few tools are required for making slippers. A knife, scissors, needle and linen thread are household articles everywhere. Any of the other tools needed can be made easily at home. They include an awl, fig. 6, a single and a triple thonging punch, figs. 27 and 28, and a thonging board, fig. 26.
