    I cannot marry him, Gigi! I love someone else, Charlotte cried.

    Gianna Chadwell had heard this heart wrenching lamentation at least a hundred times within the last hour and yet it had not changed current conditions in the least. She watched her English cousin Charlotte Chadwell pace her bedroom. She felt tremendous sympathy for her but there was nothing she could do to alter the circumstances. Charlotte Amelia Chadwell was to wed the Scottish Lord, Adair Buchanan, and there was nothing to be done about it.
