Introduction
I wrote this book, or better this short collection of information as I cannot say I can be classified as a writer, for many different reasons.
Firstly, to celebrate the 30th anniversari of our famly reunions in Brancoli, what we call Simposium
, that will be next June 2016. Actually, the organizers of this wonderful initiative met for the first time 31 years ago, but the meetings were institutionalized
one year later , as we shall see later in the relevant chapter. Beside, however , the count, it seemed important to take this opportunity to use this way to make a point to the history of our genealogical research. A second reason is the desire to transmit to future generations the information gathered to date. On first page Is written 1st Edition
, aiming this collection be a summary of the past , but also a starting point for future research, hoping in a second edition and, hopefully, in many others.
Last reason wants to honor once again, in addition to the participation to our Symposiums, those who started all the activities and remember all those who have worked and still work so that this tradition can continue.
The news on the following pages are updated to June 2015 and are supported by written documentation, if not otherwise explicitly mentioned.

I. To the Origins
To find information about our ancestors, both those closet to usa s like as those more back in the it is not so simple like could seems.
It was only after the Council of Trento, held between 1545 and 1563, that all parish priests were requested to maintain a systematic recording of the population taking note of deaths and births , as well as weddings and arrivals or departures . These registers , still largely available today at individual parishes or at Archbishoprics, are the main source of information at our disposal , once convinced the priests to show them, which is not always easy . For those books at the Archbishoprics it is sufficient to make a written request with charge.
Oldest books are handwritten on handmade paper or parchment, with a nice and fluttering calligraphy to and often difficult to understand and with frequent errors and approximations . It is possible to find our ancestors as Orsali
