The Dream
It all started about 20 years back when they went salmon fishing at Olcott, New York, at Lake Ontario. When traveling back home to Brimfield, Ohio, on Interstate 90 in western Pennsylvania, Tony said to Bill, Do you want to stop at Conneaut and get Lake Erie before we get home?
Bill said, But what for?
Bill was argumentative due to the fact that he was tired after he had slept in the back of Tony’s pickup truck, cuddled around a spare tire and miscellaneous other items on this fishing trip, but they had had a great time. For two people who were sort of like the Odd Couple, they always got along well and had an outstanding and fun relationship. That way we can say we fished two Great Lakes in one day,
exclaimed Tony. Well, both of them were very tired, but after a lot of complaining, Bill finally said yes, and they headed to Conneaut (a little northeastern town on the south shore of Lake Erie) to do just that. And thus was the premise for this incredible journey.
So, around January of 2014, they were sitting at work during break time, laughing and talking about fishing and the day how that they fished two Great Lakes in one day. Bill said, I wonder if anyone has fished all five Greats in one day?
Then their eyes lit up, and Tony said, I wonder if it can be done? Has anyone ever done this before? All five in one day?
They thought that it would be quite a challenge and could possibly make history. There was nothing on
