The following story takes place approximately twenty-two years prior to the events in Book I of The Starhawk Chronicles.

The wreckage of the passenger liner Star of Corrill started to glow with incandescence as the once great ship kissed the atmosphere of Drellis Major.

What a mess, Thom Forster said, a thin trickle of sweat running down his forehead as he guided the Starhawk nimbly through the debris field. Navigation was treacherous.
