New Sphinx

About this ebook
Poetry collected from recent years of travel and meditation. Attempts to speak about our always moving positionless existence as custodians of an infinite light.
Realising that perfection is a compromise, we release these strange but true languages, and move on.
Our poetry aims to raise our vibration through deeper and direct perception Within.
The New Sphinx poems call to an ancient part of our selves, to the depths of a forgotten natural balance to a child's trust in our powerful imagination, un-adult-erated by Systems of Control. We explore the world with a soft eye and feel inner worlds as multidimensional experiences.
Through trance state meditation and by developing a personal quest for knowledge in daily life and nightly dreams... we offer these poems to you...
Darren Drake
Currently creates poetry, essays, and novels that reflect spiritual and multidimensional experiences.

New Sphinx - Darren Drake
"Why does a trillion-word dream exist if it cannot be opened?"
--‘The Dreams’, Akiane Kramarik.
"Ruta Skadi was four hundred and sixteen years old, with all the pride and knowledge of an adult witch-queen. She was wiser by far than any short-lived human. But she had not the slightest idea of how like a child she seemed beside these ancient beings. Nor did she know how far their awareness spread out beyond her like filamentary tentacles to the remotest corners of the universes she had never dreamed of; nor that she saw them as human-formed only because her eyes expected to. If she were to perceive their true form, they would seem more like architecture than organism, like huge structures composed of intelligence and feeling.
But they expected nothing else: she was very young."
-pg 141, The Subtle Knife, Philip Pullman.
I Am a Zildjian Cymbal from Istanbul
Warm ringing hammer tone…
transcends the industrialized lathe of Empire.
So different the music created.
So different the spiritual intention of handcraft.
The imperfections of Good.
A sovereign tapestry of steel & flesh.
Like Old Masters forging katanas, Zildjian put soulwork into each cymbal.
Hence the superb tone.
New Sphinx
Painted purple sky, a lion
steps through the dotted anomaly.
No, it’s a lady
with red hair and a lion’s golden body.
Fur sheening sunlight tipends and smallwhite wings.
Holding tenuous space in white mountain mist.
Poise: Momentous.
I love her.
She gushes silent language
unfolding aeons upon fields upon tides of rotating sparkles.
A star cluster.
Nebulous with waking.
She folds her wings and sits calmly on the precipice.
The birds of tomorrow are her
