About this ebook
Minotaur, is about an archaeologist hired by a mysterious Greek billionaire as a spelunker to descend into one of the very deep and dark places on his property. There are mysterious secrets, thousands of years old, buried there as they go along a narrow passageway her companion, Mithros, begins to hum a mysterious song; partly in Greek; partly in Latin, and the rest in an unknown to her language which sounds ancient. She loses him in the darkness behind her until she senses some large creature in the dark. Only later, after an incredible encounter, does she learn of the connection between the creature and her employer Mithros, and the true purpose of their adventure into the depths of Crete.
Chiron The Centaur Tries a Few Fantasies, is an offbeat story about a centaur that sometimes dreams he is all horse and running in the wind, but in the end, though, he does find his true love and lifestyle.

I was born in England, but have lived in Southern California for many years. I m now retired and live in the Pacific NW in a little seaside city amongst the giant redwoods and wonderful harbor, almost at the Oregon border. My husband and I have one cat, called Midnight and she is featured in two of my latest Sci-Fi short stories. I love Science Fiction, animals, and trying to help others. I publish under Doreen Milstead as well as my own name. My photo was taken right before the coronation of QE II in the UK.

Synopsis: Minotaur, is about an archaeologist hired by a mysterious Greek billionaire as a spelunker to descend into one of the very deep and dark places on his property.
Though they couldn’t see him, they were now very aware of something moving very steadily and deliberately through the maze below. Its breathing echoed up through the corridors in the darkness.
The search for some logical explanation within Trina’s mind gave way to images conjured out of the myths and legends that she’d read a thousand times. Stories she loved but had always taken as simple, entertaining allegory and nothing more until today.
Before now, Trina thought that she had been prepared. She had let her lust for adventure lure her in a way that she rarely allowed. She was now realizing what a chaotic whirlwind all the moments leading up to this had been. She was faced with the realization that she hardly knew her strange companion Mithros at all.
She asked herself if she could genuinely trust him and she could not be sure. She had little choice now though. She looked at him across the dark hole in the earth that they were both poised over and saw the excited smile upon the face of the handsome, older gentleman that had lured her into this little adventure initially. She had already gotten the sense that fear was as foreign to Mithros as she was.
When Trina had first been summoned to Crete by the liaison of the eccentric Mr. Mithros, she had wondered why she had been sought out so specifically. There were so many other professors and esteemed archeologists who had far more experience with such matters; mostly old men who worked right alongside her, constantly reminding her that she was merely a rookie in a
