About this ebook

Jack is a lonely introvert who tends to live in his own head. He's very much a homebody, which is the complete opposite of his best friend and roommate, Mack. After weeks, of not months of incessant of constant badgering from Mack, Jack finally decided to head out for a night on the town. Nearly instantly he regrets his decision, but after meeting Sarah, the emerald eyed girl of his dreams, Jack's life changes forever. Love can do an infinite number of things to a person, and Sarah did all of those things for Jack. A night of crazy antics leads Jack and Sarah to fall for one another. But how long can love last? Much like life itself, everything must come to an end, whether we want it to or not.

    Chapter 1

Saturday night, for many it's the night of the week to which many look forward. It's a night of celebration, of drinking, of parties, and of fun. But for Jack Larson, it's rather dreary. For months Jack has done nothing on Saturday nights, despite the cries and pleas from his best friend and roommate, Mack. Yes, Mack and Jack. It's not actually as funny a story as many would have believed, but it did end up seeming to be fate that the two would end up together. However, it was nothing more than the answering of a roommate wanted ad that brought the two together. See, nothing very exhilarating, and truth be told, it's a missed opportunity for a good bar story. Nevertheless, they both knew from day one that the friendship would be something special.

Jack! Mack shouted from the kitchen, Get your best shirt and your fanciest shoes, we're going out tonight brotha!

Jack sighed. Going out wasn't exactly his idea of fun. Well, honestly, he didn't even know what was his idea of fun. He'd let Mack drag him out so many times since he moved in that he'd been so burnt out. Mack with his fiery, if not a bit manic, personality was a bit too much for Jack to handle most nights, but lately he didn't care much for it all.

Jack. Mack said sternly, I'm taking you out man. Tonight's the night we find you a lady. Mack said with so much confidence Jack would have thought he had something set up, but he knew better. It was the same thing week after week, yet there was never a girl.

Jack stared off into the distance while his brain went into autopilot preparing his usual response of apathy delivered with all the enthusiasm of a lethargic stoner. But tonight something different flicked in his prefrontal cortex, a flash of blue in a usual dead and greyed out zone. Jack turned his head and looked at his partner in rhyme and answered his question with something that even shocked him.

    Alright.

Mack stopped in his tracks. He couldn't have expected that, not in a thousand years, but he wasn't about to question it. Jack said yes. Hell must have frozen over.

Great! I mean, like, really. You were starting to worry me over there, Jack. Mack said strutting into the room.

I mean, seriously. I get it, you're the dark brooding Batman type. But even Bruce Wayne goes to a party or two. It's good to see you're finally letting your Bruce hang out. He instantly regretted saying that. Mack and Jack looked at each other for a second in the most awkward of silences.

Anyway... Jack started, Where do you want to go? He finished looking straight ahead.

    Duffy's? Mack
