This story is based upon the legend of the first Marquis of Monferrato, Aleramo, . His mother, being unable to have children, makes a pilgrimage to Rome. She becomes pregnant and gives birth in Sezzadio, where her child is baptised with the name Aleramo. His parents leave him in Sezzadio where a nurse takes care of him. They carry on their pilgrimage, never seeing him again. Aleramo becomes a knight for the German Emperor Otto I and falls in love with his beautiful daughter Alasia. The Emperor does not allow their marriage and the two lovers are forced to escape. After Alasia's premature death, Aleramo marries two more times.

The Marquis manages to stop Saracen attacks. Empress Adelaide admires his diplomatic skills and wants him to become Imperial Dignitary, helping him to get the title of Marquis of the Committees of Acqui, Savona, Asti, Monferrato, Torino, Vercelli, Parma, Cremona and Bergamo.

Aleramo is a feature film that makes the origin of Monferrato known through the history of its first Marquis, his legendary ride, the characters and the historical facts surrounding the X century.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Aleramo, the firstMarquis of Monferrato, existed in the X century.

It is told that during the second day of his legendary ride, his horse lost a shoe and that Aleramo used a brick to beat it back on.

SYNOPSYS

Monferrato is an area known for its excellent products: red and white wines among the world's most famous, hazelnuts and white truffles of Alba, cheese and industries (filigree, pottery, Miroglio, etc.).

The history of de Aleramo tryes, the first Marquis of Monferrato, and its powerful dynasty, the Aleramicis is not yet known by the Piedmontese, let alone the rest of the world!

1 - AICA – a young and beautiful girl who is travelling to marry Earl Guglielmo de Tryes, whose father descends from a French family from the period of Teodorico di Sassonia. She is tall and blond with blue eyes. She can either be very proud or extremely sweet. She looks forward to having a child.

2 - BANTOR - a fantastic and cruel character. An evil witch who lives in an ice hut. She has long black hair and covered with hides and hair. She is envious of humans. She terminates Aica’s pregnancy and kills her with a wandering arrow. She also tries to have the young Alasia killed by a wild boar, however eventually Alasia dies during her third and exhausting pregnancy.

Bantor is envious of Emperess Adelaide and Aleramo’s friendship, she lures them to fall in love with each other and forces them regret their affair.

Aleramo kills Bantor with his sword after drinking a potion, which made him invisible.

3 - ALERAMO, the first Marquis of the Monferrato, was born in Sezzadio to Aica and Guglielmo de Tryes.

- As a baby: a chubby child with rosy cheeks and blue eyes. His Saxon nurse dies after a few years and he is raised lovingly by the inhabitants of Sezzadio.

- As a fifteen year old: blond with the blue eyes; he learns to fight with any kind of weapon and he is appointed equerry (shield bearer). Otto I of Germany asks him about his origins and Aleramo replies: my blood is German but my education is Lombardia. The Emperor declares him a knight and cupbearer at the imperial lunchroom.

- As a twenty year old: nearly two meters tall, muscular and athletic. He wields a sword, which only a man weighing a hundred kilos can handle.

- As a middle-aged man: He
