CHASE: The Humorous Side of Paranoia
By Brian James
()
About this ebook
Say hello to New England mobsters and special agents of the “ B “. Would they ever strike a symbiotic relationship beneficial to each? Author Brian James puts the above premise in play within the opening chapters of his latest work ... CHASE. Not content to get his own ass in a sling, he quickly entraps his family and friends in dangerous circumstances and unjustified suspicion. The autocratic powers James poked fun at in his two earlier books have now had enough of him. Travel then up and down the eastern seaboard of the United States and across the North Atlantic Ocean to Corsica through the pages of CHASE. Perhaps your laughter may calm our author’s anxieties, but we doubt it!

CHASE - Brian James
CHASE continues an irreverent take on crime via satirical humor. Much like the earlier two books and CD, CHASE is concise and to the point. It won’t waste your time in tangentville. Listen to me now. I don’t like superfluous, flowery descriptions and neither will my faithful be required to endure literary ego. The very reason you won’t be able to put CHASE down is because of its succinctness. I know too often when I’m tired from reading, if the following chapter is too lengthy, I’m all done for the night.
Names, places, and events in CHASE are used fictitiously, because, if certain characters and circumstances were real, who knows when a crime humorist could become dead meat. Read the book, enjoy the farcical assertions it puts forth, and then mow the grass or take your mother-in-law shoe shopping.

FOREWORD
Par.a.noi.a / A psychosis marked by delusions of persecution and/or grandeur
The two main antagonists in HEADSTONE and its sequel, FORTUNE, were the crews in Providence, R.I. and Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity, Inc. Upon reading my fictional memoir about Junior James, several people were genuinely concerned for the author’s personal safety. One such person was my wife’s younger sister, Marian, who, on more than one occasion, fearfully predicted my untimely demise. Initially, I dismissed all such concerns. However, as the months passed, I soon realized many more readers other than our immediate family were taking a serious look at my tall tales. Commonly heard reviews were too short
, true or false?
, and We wanted to know more details.
Ironically, my dad had lived bitterly with the first quote all his life, and, wow, did it ever piss him off big time!
I launched into writing HEADSTONE in the fall of 2010 and saw it published the following year. Then, ever so insidiously, the above entitled psychosis began to dominate my sleep apnea condition.
