For mom and dad.
I am not blessed with the ability of making things look easy.
That's how Felix began his evening prayer.
When it comes to making my dreams come true, I know that I still have much to learn. I know that. But I also know there are certain powers in the night, powers that govern my life beyond what I say, think or do.
He shuffled his feet so that his knees wouldn't touch the ground for more than a few seconds at a time. He wasn't used to maintaining a prayer pose for too long.
Grant me the ability to control them and, in return, you will have my undying loyalty.
He finally lifted himself up and wiped the sweat off his forehead. It was 8:13 PM. The heat should start losing its grip, any minute now.
Outside things had already begun picking up in his little parcel of life. Bicycles dashed up and down the streets like waterbugs. As the day gradually turned into night, more and more windows were perking up with artificial light. Down below, the children had already begun whispering to each other around street corners.

After all this time he was still amazed just how far the little red light would go. Sometimes he'd pick a spot, any spot as long as it was as far away as possible, just to see who'd fail first: his eyesight or the laser itself. His eyesight never stood a chance.
Beep beep!
There goes that blasted tamagotchi again. Probably wants to be fed. If that thing were real, Felix caught himself thinking, it would probably look more like Jabba the Hut than Winnie the Pooh.
As soon as he went to pick it up, the door to his room burst open and in walked a tiny little blonde girl with pigtails.
You're supposed to knock, Sera.
Well, you're supposed to feed him too, y'know. I've got summer assignments to do.
Technically, Felix and his sister were supposed to share caring duties for their loudmouth electronic pet. It had been their mother's request that they learn proper responsibility, before she committed to buying a family dog. But Felix had quickly grown tired of it and, frankly, couldn't wait for its batteries to go out already.
You don't think I just horse around all day, do you?
No. Before you used to watch TV, but now that you're grounded you probably just stare at the walls.
Oh, it was true alright. Felix had been grounded on account of not
