1.1 Basic Definitions of Vectors and Scalars
A vector is a quantity that has both magnitude and direction.
i) Some typical vector quantities are displacement, velocity, force, acceleration, momentum, electric field strength, and magnetic field strength.
A scalar is a quantity that has magnitude but no direction.
i) Some typical scalar quantities are mass, length, time, density, energy, and temperature.
