This is more like one and half stars.

This had hot sex but it was too full of wtfery for me, from the crazy and insane family the hero belongs to. His squicky brother and the TSTL heroine. I wasn't keen on the hero and the romance wasn't believable and I especially didn't think a forced shotgun wedding and stripping the heroine in front of his family was appealing or funny. It was just a mess although the wtfery elements was entertaining in a way until, the hero went into full alphahole mode when he chained the heroine up to his bed.

Sahara gets lost in the bayou and is found by Jacque and Quint. They take her to their home and start getting cozy before being broken up by Quint's wife, Lisette. Jacques continues. He wants her and is starting to feel something, but he won't call it love. Sahara was sent to the bayou to get photos of rare orchids. She shares her dreams with Jacque about a photography career, money, and a big fancy house but she does not share her childhood which makes her want those things. Jacque gets mad as he is looking for a woman who loves him, not his alter ego, Jack Kershaw, CEO of Cajun Hot. Sahara keeps trying to escape but is brought back each time. Jacque is trying to break her down to admit she loves him. When that happens, he decides to let her go. She then learns the truth about him. Will she go? Will she stay? Do they both love each other?I enjoyed this story. It was fun. It was outrageous. It was hot! I liked Jacque. He did everything he could to see if she would pass his test. He never thought she would have a test. He's shocked that he was outmaneuvered. Sahara is strong. She is going to make him earn his way back to her. When he does, she gets him back. It was so fun to watch!I look forward to more from this author.

Wanted to love it....sex was hot...but some parts of it were so crazy, stupid, I don't know how to describe it...but the part that turned me off the book was the outsider who tempted a bayou boy, having to stand naked in front of the crowd at the bar. Plus it leads you to believe there is menage action...NOT!

This story has the distinction of being the very first 'romantica' novel I ever read. By romantica I mean stories with erotica elements (taboo sexual situations, hardcore language...) yet ones that were also romances with a viable plot. Cajun Hot doesn't qualify as one of the best but it is one of the first. The author, using an alias as I know she also wrote for Harlequin Romances, I think really went out on the limb to put this novel out there and if she had carried on in the same vein would have been a huge success in the romantica genre. But, she didn't and this is really the only one of hers to read.A photographer is lost out on the bayou looking for that next photo that will bring her success. She meets up with a pair od brothers that take her 'home' - even deeper in the bayou - and seduce her to their lifestyle. Other than the first encouter with the two she does pair off to only one but the fun doesn't stop there and he spends his time having inventive sex with her and avoiding getting her back to civilization. It is a fun story and the sex at times is hot.
