About this ebook

Feisty orphan Pippa de Lacey lives by wit and skill as a London street performer. But when her sharp tongue gets her into serious trouble, she throws herself upon the mercy of Irish chieftain Aidan O'Donoghue.

Pippa provides a welcome diversion for Aidan as he awaits an audience with the queen, who holds his people's fate in her hands. Amused at first, he becomes obsessed with the audacious waif who claims his patronage.

Rash and impetuous, their unlikely alliance reverberates with desire and the tantalizing promise of a life each has always wanted—but never dreamed of attaining.

Loved this book! My favorite of the trilogy. I absolutely LOVED Aiden. I hated Felicity's character, but was surprised with how we came about actually meeting her. I really came to care about the characters and was crying near the end. Thought the ending was so great, made me so happy. Great read!!

Pippa is quite the character. it is always a surprise what she is going to say and do. Aidan is so troubled and must endure so much pain I hope they live happily ever after

I liked the first half or so above average, but then my interest started dwindling, and the ending was a bit below average for me. So they kind of canceled each other out. There was some major and unnecessary secret keeping, which is kind of tedious, and it just lost some of its charm. But, overall, it was 'okay'.

I have read a few Susan Wiggs books over the last few years. I always find her books to be light, fun reads with no heavy sex or violence, but she always includes a sweet romantic tale in there somewhere. This is the case with Summer By The Sea. It’s a great story about childhood friendships, family loyalties, social differences, misunderstandings, secrets and their consequences. The characters were very warm-hearted. Unfortunately I did find the book a little boring, just because it was not heavy with suspense. What I loved most about the book was that it includes lots of Italian recipes. Pretty much at the start of every chapter there was a recipe for something yummy! That was just a nice little touch. Sure make us all hungry well we’re reading.:)
