About this ebook
Five years ago, Rafael, Duke of Sheffield, believed he was betrayed by the woman he loved and the pain haunts him still.
When Rafe discovers that he was cruelly tricked and that Danielle Duval was never unfaithful, he's desperate to win her back. But Dani is already on a steamer bound for America to marry another man. Impulsively, Rafe follows her and, trapping her in a compromising situation, quickly makes her his wife.
Promising her that with time he can prove his love and win her trust, Rafe presents her with a stunning necklace rumored to hold great power. As much as Dani wants to believe it can right the wrongs of the past, she fears there is one truth it cannot conceal, a truth that could cost her this second chance with Rafe, the only man she has ever loved….
KAT MARTIN
For New York Times bestselling author Kat Martin, a career in real estate led her down the road to romance. Through real estate, Kat found her own perfect match — her husband, Western author Larry Jay Martin. "We were on opposing sides of a transaction — I represented the seller and he represented the buyer," Kat recalls. A short time after the two became acquainted, Larry asked her to read an unpublished manuscript of an historical western he'd written. Kat fell in love with both the book and the author! "It was quite a romantic story," she admits. "I'd still like to see it get published." Then, after doing some editing for her future husband, she thought she'd try her own hand at writing. Kat moved on to become the bestselling author of over thirty historical and contemporary romance novels. To date, 10 million copies of her books are in print, and she's been published around the globe, including Germany, Norway, Sweden, China, Korea, Bulgaria, Russia, England, South Africa, Italy, Spain, Argentina and Greece. When she's not writing, Kat also enjoys skiing and traveling, particularly to Europe. Currently, she's busy writing her next book. Kat loves to hear from readers via her email: katmartin@katbooks.com

Reviews for The Handmaiden's Necklace
50 ratings3 reviews
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed all three books in this series but was not head over heels for Rafe. Danielle finds herself married to Rafe after living in seclusion for five years following a scandal. Danielle was originally engaged to Rafe and she finds herself in a compromising situation with another man. She is innocent but Rafe doesn't believe her and he breaks the engagement. Five years later he finds out the truth of the situation and tries to rectify it but Danielle is engaged to another man. Rafe looks into her new fiance and is convinced that Danielle won't be happy with him. He blackmails her into a marriage with him. Much of the story has the two main characters (Rafe and Danielle) hiding their feelings from each other. Neither one knows whether or not they can ever trust each other again.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It is a fitting end to the Necklace Trilogy and wraps up all the loose ends of the story. While I liked the character of Rafe more than both Cord and Ethan the book itself was better than the 1st, but not quite as good as the 2nd.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Thrilling ending to Kat Martins Necklace Trilogy, this book was just as great as the first two. The Brides Necklace, and The Devils Necklace. We got to talk with the characters from the other books again, and we finally see Rafe get what he needs. His beautiful Dani. As with the other books in the series, this is well written with some unseen twists and turns to keep it exciting. I am sad the series is over, but would highly recommend it to anyone else who loves Historical Romances.
