Reviews for Street Player

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It's a great inside look at Chicago particularly for fans of their first few albums
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I had always wanted to know more about Chicago: their early beginnings, how they developed the sound that captivated me for the first three albums, the creative elements that spawned their writing and performances. I got some of that here: the history, their backgrounds, the synergy that is a hallmark of all creative people and groups, but not as much as what I was looking for. Chicago was a progressive, almost avant-garde rock band for those first three albums. The first album still blows me away! Cetera's bass playing was breathtaking! How did they do that? That's what I was looking for. I only got part of that from SP:MCS.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Chicago's amazing output of work over the years was fueled by many men, and one of them was the Street Player, drummer Danny Seraphine. Danny writes an honest, sometimes brutal, account of Chicago's rise to be one of the most successful rock bands in music history. Danny takes the reader on a dizzying ride of his rise and fall, and ultimately his phoenix like, come back from the dead. Street Player: My Chicago Story, should interest any fan of the band Chicago, along with anyone who appreciates someone who fights their way back to the top.
