As a parent, this book is often tough to experience. What would happen if one of your children, who is 'of age', wants to completely disappear from your life and has the ability to pull it off? Complicating that situation in 'You Will Never Find Me' are the facts that the parents are divorced, the child is no saint, the mother is an experienced detective, the father is an ex-military/police kidnapping consultant, another kidnapping has taken place that the mother is investigating, and everyone blames themselves for the child's action.

In my opinion, Robert Wilson is a fine, very underrated writer. This book is right in his wheelhouse with police procedural aspects, a bit of political/international intrigue, and many psychological implications throughout. It's well-written, taut, and believable. There's a lot going on at the conclusion, but the ending makes sense and is satisfying.

The only issue I had with You Will Never Find Me was that it was a bit long, or at least seemed to drag a bit. I'm not sure the secondary plot of the kidnapping of the child was really necessary. That part of the story was well done also, but maybe a less complicated subplot that filled the same purpose would have made the book move along a bit faster. Otherwise, I highly recommend this book!

Suspenseful and fast paced…a thriller, a mystery…This book grabs you almost from the beginning. You must read it carefully as the carefully written plot may (deliberately) throw you off course from time to time.Teenage Amy Boxer is the daughter of Charles Boxer, a kidnap consultant, and Mercy Danquah, a detective inspector. Growing up with her set of parents she knows how to disappear without being found. Amy’s divorced parents have basically been absent most of her life. Her father was always away on consulting business, and her mother worked long hours with the kidnapping unit she was assigned to. Rebellious Amy decides to runaway. She leaves them a note that ends with “YOU WILL NEVER FIND ME”. Thus begins the search for a girl who has erased all fingerprints and DNA from her home, and all online traces of herself. While trying to find Amy and trying to soothe her guilt, Mercy is assigned to the case of a kidnapped Russian boy. “You Will Never Find Me” is hard to put down. Mr. Wilson takes you into the criminal world of drug trafficking, drug use, and murder.There were a few times that the story moved from one scene to another with no transition and no break on the page. Because of this I had to sometimes go back and re-read a portion in order to determine where the action was taking place. But it was well worth the read.

"You will never find me"... is what is on the note that Detective Inspector Mercy Danquah finds from her daughter Amy Boxer. Mercy and Amy's father Charles Boxer are divorced but share custody of Amy. Mercy is a police officer specializing in kidnappings and Charles, also works as a kidnap specialist in the private sector. Amy has erased almost everything, her computer, she gets rid of her phone and also gets rid of a lot of her belongings. You wonder how she was able to do this without being detected? Well her parents are always working so it is a pretty easy task for Amy. She travels to Madrid and that is all we hear from Amy. She is gone, just gone and when a body of a young girl is found in Madrid, Mercy and Charles biggest fear comes true, or does it? The reader experiences the grief that these two people suffer through while the investigation continues on the dead girl whose body parts turn up in different parts of the river. Charles travels to Madrid and uses the skills he has to trace Amy's path so he can find out what happened to her. Mercy on the other hand decides to let Charles handle that aspect of the search and she in the meantime takes on a case of a missing Russian boy, Sasha whose father is a former FSB operative investigating the poisoning of a former comrade. This is a story that is filled with lots of suspenseful twists and turns. There are numerous other characters, including Madrid drug dealer El Osito and his cohorts, very bad people. The story can be slow at times but it is still a page turner and all the angles come together in the end. This is the first of the Charles Boxer novels I have read but You Will Never find Me can be read as a stand alone book. I was able to figure out who was who without having read any previous books. A definite thriller, filled with a lot of action and scary events by extremely dangerous individuals. If you love a good mystery thriller, give this book a try! I don't think you will be disappointed!

When it turns out that the Boxers can't seem to find their daughter; it now appears Amy may, in fact, be dead. Will they ever find Amy? And, more importantly, will she still be alive? Robert Wilson's book "You Will Never Find Me" is a fast paced, thrill of a mystery! I was hooked from the very first page - and you will be too! I received this Ebook for free to review. You Will Never Find Me – Charles Boxer # 2 – by Robert Wilson is a 2015 Europa publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book I have read by this author so I had no idea what to expect when I got started on this one. But, the more I read, the more I liked the story and the author's style. When bored sixteen year old Amy Boxer leaves her mother, Mercy, a note explaining she is running away from home she proudly proclaims: “You will never find me”. Mercy and Charles are divorced, she is from Africa, and he is from London, but the bond they share because of Amy draws them back together as they search frantically for their daughter. Mercy is a cop and Charles is a kidnap specialist, so finding people is something Charles is fairly good at. So, while he combs through Madrid, the last place Amy was seen, Mercy takes on a child abduction case. This is a riveting and fast paced thriller preying on every parent's worst nightmare. Blending that in with the drug trade and a the Russian Secret Service made the usual runaway and abduction trope very interesting and edgy indeed. The author deftly intertwines the personal lives of Charles and Mercy into the story as each cope with the situation in their own way and as is the case so often in this type of situation, long held secrets rise to the surface adding yet another tense element to the story. While this is a “Charles Boxer” mystery, it was Mercy I found to be the most compelling and curious character in the book. She is driven by her career, is still in love with Charles and makes no secret of the fact she would like another chance with him, although he is now involved with someone else. She is also in that special tumultuous place many mothers find themselves in when their daughters hit their teen years and morph into someone they don't even recognize. Amy is the typical teen in many ways, filled with disdain for no good reason, secretive and haughty, thinking she knows more than her parents. But, when she runs away from home, something opens in Mercy causing her to behave in an uncharacteristic way, I would never have imagined from a cop. But, when she is on the job, she is focused, in her element, sharp and alert, excelling here in ways she does not in her personal life. Charles also goes off script, tossing the proverbial book out the window, in order to find and save his daughter. Both he and Amy will find themselves pawns in a deadly scheme and this is where things got so tense I couldn't book the book down. I do believe I will be looking for more of the the Charles Boxer mysteries in the future. This story is a unique thriller, well plotted and paced, with interesting and compelling characters. Overall this one gets 4 stars
