About this ebook

Emma decided to skip the gym and went home early. It was the last easy decision she made because she found her roommate being raped by the boyfriend. She had two choices. Call the cops and be killed by his family's mafia connections or kill him first and hope to survive. There was no choice to her. She killed the bastard first and went to the one person who could protect her. Carter Reed. He's a weapon for the rivaling mafia family, but he's also Emma's secret. Not only was he best friends with her brother, but she's the reason he became that weapon in the first place.

This book is not for the faint of heart.

After reading Cole, I knew I had to read Carter's book and I have to say that I really had a fun time with this one here. Its not quite as good as Cole was for me, there was much more magnetism in Cole, but I really loved the set up of their relationship and seeing the dynamics of their relationship and the dramatics of the mafia that Carter is a part of. I really loved the romance in this book, it was really poignant and compelling in many ways.

The book that wouldn't end, with the same scenes over and over. The heroine's sole act of bravery occurs in the beginning, then she becomes a blubbering, simpering mess who has crap taste in friends and whose friendships and motivations are vague and vapid. I couldn't figure out what she was doing with the hero either – both of them were so one-dimensional. Could not bring myself to finish the last three chapters because I felt like we were retreading the same damn story that should have concluded three or four chapters earlier. What a waste of time.

Carter Reed is Stunning, Mind-Blowing just flat-out marvelous! I received this book as an ARC and I kind of kept putting it off. I know probably something I shouldn’t admit. But once I actually started it, I couldn’t put it down. It is a pretty long book or it felt that way. But it was completely entertaining. I don’t feel that there was a dull moment in there. This book is about a girl named Emma, and she walks in on her roommate getting raped, seeing Mallory as family she did what she had to do. Emma killed him knowing he was the son of a Mobster. (Yeah I know, I thought it too. Really a mobster) Then they went on the run. Emma knew she needed help and knew that there was only one person that could help her. Carter. He was there when her brother was killed, he made a name for himself by getting revenge on the people who killed AJ. She goes to him unsure of whether or not he will help. Little does she realize that he has been helping her, her entire life? Does love really happen or is the heat of the moment. Can they survive his mob connections? Can he get out? Can Carter and Emma have a happily ever after? All that said, yes I know it’s not much. But I HATE giving it all away. This is a book I will definitely reread!! Simply put I LOVED it!! ✯Jammie *ARC provided for an honest review* This Review along with others can be found 2 Bookaholics

This is my first Mafia-Mobsters book which is kinda crazy since I've enjoyed so many great movies & shows about them. I enjoyed this book & Carter Reed is definitely swoon worthy. Emma got a little annoying with her libido constantly popping up at the weirdest times! I'm sad, I'm going to cry, I might die, mmmmmm Carter yummy! What was I doing? The one part I didn't like & pulled me out of the book just because I think it is completely unbelievable & the author was just too lazy to come up with a different solution to the Mafia problem was when Carter was able to "buy" his way out of the mob. Nobody does this! If it was just that easy everyone would think to do it & the mob would have a big prob with former "family" knowing too many secrets out walking around like civilians! JEEZ! Dumb way to resolve that conflict when I would think Carter could have had a more sophisticated, intelligent way to get what he wants. Being the "hammer" in a Mafia family has got to come with some perks right? Such as being privy to incriminating evidence? I don't know, I just didn't like how that part got dealt with but overall I did really enjoy my first mob book.
