About this ebook
The popular primer on the best graphic novels, initially called The 101 Best Graphic Novels, is back in its third updated edition. Expert librarian Stephen Weiner—with the crowdsourcing help of professionals in the field, from artists to critics to leading comic store owners—has sifted through the bewildering thousands of graphic novels now available to come up with an outstanding, not-to-be-missed 101. With an all-encompassing variety of genres, including both fiction and nonfiction, this serves as a great introduction to this increasingly influential world of pop culture and entertainment while also serving as a reference list for fans on what they may have possibly overlooked.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Overall, a good intro to the genre, but it is more of a catalog than anything else. The short synopsis are nice, but just showing the covers of the works isn't enough to convey the aesthetics of the artwork, the main focus of this genre. The age rating is definitely a plus. A good but slightly limited reference material.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Fake and very very bad???
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5While an excellent introduction into the world of graphic novels, it's really nothing more than a glorified list. I give it 4 stars for the diversity of the list and Weiner's own notations (he even devises a C/Y/Y+/A rating system to describe age-appropriateness). What lacks, though is organization and anything beyond a brief paragraph describing the plot of the graphic novel. Gaiman's and Weiner's introductions both offer personal thanks to the graphic novel, but beyond that...A great guide for fans of the genre looking to branch out.
