I am a twenty three year old woman and I grew up in Wollongong. As a young girl I was diagnosed with a rare sleep disorder, Ondine's curse. It caused me to lose my life four times and spend the first three years of my life in hospital.During my time in hospital I forgot how to talk and was spoiled rotten by the nurses. My mother and father would always find the nurses had bought me a new toy to play with.I have two older sisters who I absolutely adore. I was bullied in primary school and high school. My parents divorced when I was eleven. I had a mental break down at 14 and my mother pulled me out of school. I continued schooling else where.In 2009 I moved to Newcastle and continued to live there until 2014. During my time in that city, my depression and anxiety worsened, I became an alcoholic and got into a spiral that I thought I would never get myself out of. In 2014 I had a friend violate me, that was the icing on the cake, my lowest point. I tried a two week program to get myself sober, but it fell short after my grandmother passed away.Finally my mother bought me home and I have been rebuilding my life ever since. I am currently sober and on the repair. I am eating healthier and exercising. I just acquired my own house near my mother's and sisters. I have a kitten named Dawn and a dog named London. I was vegan for three years. I adore my niece and nephew and my partner Joshua.Each day is a brand new day and I am hoping this year will be brighter. I am a survivor, through everything, I made it through and I am happy. This is why I am trying to get my work out there. I love writing. It frees me and I love hearing what people think.I hope I put a smile on your face and make you fascinated in my work.

Cold Old One

Thunder was heard. Annabelle knew her days in the sun were over. Hearing on the news for weeks that it was going to rain and it had never happened, made her feel content. Annabelle brushed her hair out from in-front of her eyes, to gaze up at the sky.

The black, thick storm clouds were rolling over the hill. The sun was just about to set. She always enjoyed reading under the trees at her grandma's backyard this time of the day. A drop of water on her hand, then another on her book. Annabelle got up, shook the dirt from her pants and ran down the hill towards her Grandmother's cottage.

Annabelle! her Grandmother called to her. Annabelle was already almost at the door. She had always hated rain.

Made it Annabelle exclaimed in relief while her Grandmother closed the door.

Annabelle walked through the kitchen, sat her book down, Meilcha's Tail's her favourite series, it is the fourth time she was reading the series. She started towards the kitchen to make her Grandmother and herself a cup of tea. Tea is always good on a cold day, Annabelle thought. Her Grandmother was sitting
