About this ebook
Located at the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay, between Philadelphia and Baltimore, lies the U.S. Army Chemical Defense Agency. There, a weapon far more deadly than the atomic bomb was developed to render all other forms of war obsolete. Army scientists successfully developed a pathogen capable of targeting specific genetic markers - blue eyes, red hair, or geographical ethnicity. To ensure the process could not be duplicated by any adversaries, silicon, not carbon was used as the base substrate. No cure could be derived by examining the blood of the dead. Every precaution was taken during the research program. Final testing had proven the virus, code named Hoarfrost, was as lethal and accurate as predicted. One critical element had been overlooked. All the hermetically sealed chambers at the test facility were made from silicon. The Hoarfrost virus consumed the seals and was out. The ravages of the unchecked virus were absolute. Scientists retreated to remote facilities and worked frantically to develop a cure response. They made some strides against the virus but they died, taking the final cure with them. The world changed and a century passed before humankind rebuilt itself from the remnants of apocalypse. Legends of the power of the original people became folklore for some and a quest for others to discover the past and use it to dominate. The will of evil men was gathering and too few stood in their way. One man, without any memory of his past, fought to have a future. Would he fail or inspire others to fight?
