Carol Marinelli

Carol Marinelli recently filled in a form asking for her job title. Thrilled to be able to put down her answer, she put writer. Then it asked what Carol did for relaxation and she put down the truth - writing. The third question asked for her hobbies. I think the plot was unrealistic. It was rushed and not detailed. Lazarro was plotting and scheming the whole time so it was unbelievable at the end when he and Caitlyn finally got together.

Whenever I read something new, I always try to appreciate the author's effort and try to understand how his/her mind works. I don't just shove the book and put it down but if I can't stand it anymore I'll stop. There are very few Harlequin romances I appreciate and this one didn't make the list.So it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough to recommend or read again. There's the usual "common" girl who catches the eye of the "somebody" guy, and I'm not sure if I got a no-good copy, but there wasn't even a shift of time of the two years after. I had to read the last paragraph of the previous chapter to connect the dots - that Caitlyn was working for Ranaldi as a chambermaid and she's quitting. The author did a good job in keeping the mystery under wraps and chose a great time to reveal what happened with Luca, Lazzaro's twin. I had to admit I was hooked 'til the end because of that, and was anxious about the games they played. The heroine lied most of the time - for the right reasons, and sometimes I found her exchanges with Lazzaro very harsh. I hated Roxanne too.I just didn't like the part where she can't resist him, maybe I don't understand because I haven't felt that way with anyone before, but the story was more of Caitlyn's point of view, with a few of Lazzaro's. So all in all it's an ok story.
