- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Is there a sequel? I want tk know what happens to Jeremy after he gets older.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Again, I found my way back to another Caitlin Crews book, simply because of the fact it was a Caitlin Crews book…
I have to be honest, yet again, I wasn’t expecting much from the book, mostly because the descriptive passage I had read did not do much for me to entice and engage me in the story. However, yet again, I was pleasantly surprised.
I find it remarkable how the author manages to convey so many emotions in her character development. Although, if I’m being honest, the repetition of her characters’ motives, as they are constantly repeated in their inner monologue, does grow a bit stale with time and it borders on annoying. However, it’s perhaps this repetition that makes the characters’ actions understandable and with a cohesive narrative.
Again, the story centered on an impossibly wealthy man and the girl that he, for some reason unknown to him as well, had fallen madly in love with. Again, however, I will argue that the genre I came here for isn’t the one I’m seeking for the greatest of storylines with impossible endings and whatnot. And if anything, the fact that story manages to be so stereotypically within the lines of the genre and still convey emotions and not feel like another imitation of something you’ve read before, speaks volumes about the author’s abilities to write.
It was, yet again, a thoroughly enjoyable read, fascinating and captivating, up until the last minute. My rating is significantly lower than the other two novels of Caitlin Crews I had read, mostly because I felt the story growing slightly stale at times, again because of the (borderline excessive) repetition of the motives and the rationale behind each action, as well as the repetitive narration over mistakes that had come and gone. Regardless, of it, it remains an interesting novel, continuing the tradition of unexpected remarks and ideas done in a way so elegant you can almost call it pretty. I highly recommend the book to anyone who wishes a quick escape, much like I did before reading it. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5She shouldn't have given up her child, she just deprived that boy of his birthright. She is a weak female and very bad character. Her baby should have been her strength, her anchor to life.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I dont agree she shouldnt have gave up on her baby!
