Not horrible. As expected, it is a very quick read. I really liked the heroine and the primary conflict of why she felt she couldn’t marry.

On the other hand, I just can’t for the life of me understand why so many of these authors make the “heroes” so gross and skeevy. As her boss, he literally comes on to her the first time he meets her. To me, that’s not sexy. It is someone who abuses his power, especially when she continually rejects him but he just “knows” she really wants him so continues to pursue her. Blatant comments about her body from her boss. I don’t care what he looks like, the fact that he blatantly tells her he doesn’t value women in relationships as anything other than sexual conveniences is straight up ugly and makes him incredibly unattractive. He has slept with “countless” women, and has had “mistresses” in three continents at one time. I think the author intends for us to think this means he’s incredibly attractive to women, but considering he is an unfaithful pig who “pays them off” by having the poor heroine buy them expensive “trinkets” as parting gifts- well, he just comes across as so gross and unappealing. Every time he makes a greasy sexual comment to her, I can’t help but think “Run, sister! He’s probably got herpes!” I took two stars away for the simple fact that I can’t understand why she loves him or was ever attracted to him. The last few chapters were good, primarily because he is now a completely new person who isn’t a gross, womanizing pig- he’s been cured of his non-monogamous ways by her MAGIC VAGINA (TM).

To be frank, this would have been a great story if the hero had been a good, likeable guy. The heroine’s struggles would have provided more than enough interest. In fact, if he were a good guy looking for a wife and family, it would have had way more serious impact. There was simply no reason to include gross stuff with his mistresses and disrespect for women. It added zero to the story, imho. But, it’s like these authors think we won’t believe a guy is hot unless he treats women like prostitutes. ??‍♀️

Absolutely enjoyed this book. I like it when a hero is sure of his emotions and not afraid to show it. I think I fell a little in love with him myself :-)
