Naughty Monkey Helps Mr. Carpenter — Singe Filou aide M. Charpentier
Naughty Monkey loved to swing on doors. He liked the kitchen door best.
Monkey! Stop swinging on that door,
said Mum. You will break it!
The door stopped swinging.
« Singe ! »
La porte cessa de bouger.
Ah!
Monkey said. What happened?
« Ah ! » dit Singe, « qu'y a-t-il ? »
Get down Monkey! Come here!
Mum said angrily.
« Descends Singe ! Viens ici ! » lui dit Maman en colère.
Monkey jumped to the ground and looked at Mum.
Singe sauta au sol et regarda Maman.

Monkey thought.
He had seen Mum look angrier. Naughty Monkey was very good at making Mum angry.

said Mum.
Mum pointed up at the door. The top of the door hung away from the wall. Monkey looked up. He could see a big gap between the wall and the top of the door.
Monkey, do you know why we have doors?
Mum asked.
"The door
