This is the classic tale that begs the question, "Why don't the bears just eat Goldilocks?" She's a housebreaker and a theif, and she certainly didn't apologisee for her activities, including breaking Baby Bear's chair. This version includes all the classic elements that you might remember.

In Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Goldilocks is strolling through the woods when she arrives at a cottage. Goldilocks enters the cottage, and helps herself to the amenities within, including the porridge and the bed. Eventually, the houses owners come back, and are upset to find that someone has been trespassing. Goldilocks is surprised to find out that they are bears. I'm aware that this story is a classic, but it is not one of my favorites. In what world is it ok to walk into a stranger's house, eat their food, and then take a nap?

I always enjoy this class tale. Two things I liked about this specific book was the illustrations and the use of descriptive words. The illustrations were great because they were both drawn and painted. This combination created an interesting look to the pages that was appealing for the reader. My favorite image is the picture of the three bears watching Goldilocks run away at the end. I also loved the use of descriptive words. The author said, "Once there were three bears who lived in a neat little house deep in the woods." These descriptive adjectives are good teaching tools for young children. The message I took from this book is to stretch the imagination and increase your creativity.
