Chapter 1 College Days
Hold your peace and stay with the crazy one,
Mom said while tending to a bathroom pipe run amuck.
My entire life has been anything but ordinary. When you transition from a quiet life in the elite south suburbs of Chicago to the mean streets of the ghetto, life turns into a struggle for survival.
The details are numerous, but let’s start slow. My college days seem like a good place to begin my story.
After nine years in a private Lutheran school, three days in a public high school and four years in a homeschooling program, I was admitted into North Northpole College. It was a campus that looked like a large gray stoned office complex. The flat layered building had clear glass walls surrounding the two way traffic ramp in the center. I earnestly replied.
Sure, I'll escort you to class.
A day later, Tom was nowhere to be found. My loving mom had to play bodyguard thanks to the lackluster campus police.
Thankfully, the guys weren't all jerks like Mr. Presumptuous on the ramp.
The scintillating light at the end of the tunnel was one guy named Jae. I fell head over heels in love with the pint sized Asian Ken doll. Jae stood at 5 feet 7 inches tall with his
