Anime Fanaticism, Is It Spiritually Harmful?
By Jenine Silos
"I see the unceasing influence of anime towards the youth brought by the means of media. It couldn't be as disheartening as this that people, especially Christians, don't realize that anime is not just a culture. It is a medium, and as such, a variety of mind control."

DEDICATION
I dedicate this book to God Almighty who has inspired me to have this book written and finish it despite the challenges and persecutions I may consequently receive.
I also dedicate this book to my loving family, friends, and to my fellow Christians at Maranatha Family Church. Thank you all for believing and supporting me.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I am thankful to the following people for their contributions as they serve as one of my inspirations to write this book, for imparting to me the knowledge and discipline as I walk in my faith in Christ:
My Parents. They have supported and loved me ever since I was born. I’m blessed of their unfailing love for me, and for bearing with me all this time.
The Cariño Couple. They serve as my spiritual leaders who have contributed a lot in molding my spiritual character. Thank you for the unending discipline, for the spiritual advises, for the support, and also for bearing with me all this time.
Mitch. She’s my older sister and the very person who introduced me to Christ. I am forever grateful to her. Without her, I could have not known Jesus and His amazing grace.
Mike. He’s my older brother whose ultimate effort by working in a foreign country to support his family motivates me.
Coach Gary Micheloni. He’s one of America’s project managers, and my current client. He gave me the opportunities to start my writing career. Thank you for believing in me!
John Bert Parilla. He is a friend of mine and a church mate. He’s the person who suggested to me the idea of anime fanaticism.
Daniel Dumanig. He is my church friend whom I look up to as a big brother. I’m thankful to him for giving me spiritual advises, for always encouraging me to stand firm with my faith, and to be courageous in standing up for the truth.
May the LORD our God bless you all!
INTRODUCTION
Teenager Today, Anime Addiction: Is It Spiritually Harmful? is a book written to deal with the trending deception that is amusingly blinding the eyes of the Christian youths in this present generation—anime addiction.
Indeed, it is a common fact that our youths today are highly exposed to different kinds of entertainment. Most of these entertainment industries are unconsciously drifting the individuals away from the real purpose of their lives.
One of the major concerns that I am seeing today is the incessant increase of anime fanatics that which, in this manner, may lead the youths to completely turn away from the Creator of all things. Or, to a worst degree, it may cut off their personal relationship with God.
This book is not about condemning anime. This is not about hating anime. This is about how anime addiction may lead to hinder our spiritual walks with God. As a concern Christian who believes that God is Mighty of all things, that God should be prioritized before anything else, that God alone should be praised, I have decided to have this book written.
This book will talk more about the cause and effect of anime addiction, its brief history, the anime disadvantages as well as advantages, and the possible destruction it brings towards our daily walks with God. The most vital concern is how then it is likely related to idolatry. Questions like How Does Anime Cause Us to Sin?
and Is cosplaying idolatry?
will also be discussed in this book. The book will end with tips and counseling on how to overcome anime addiction and obsession along with biblical scriptures.
In effect, to have this book written I may receive strong critics and dismays from the public, especially coming from teenagers. Some of them may be one of my friends, or much worst, a cosplayer friend. Nonetheless, to have these people read this book is my ultimate goal, in fact.
And so, as this is my ultimate desire, if you happen to be one of them, I am encouraging you not to close this book. I pray to the LORD our God that you will have the heart to continue reading. And I pray that you will pray to God that He will open your heart as you read this book. I highly recommend that you pray before you read further.
I say this once and for all. This is not a matter of fame or money. This is not just a book. This is not just about ink and paper. But this is a great matter towards knowing the Truth.
This is, essentially, a wake-up call.

The Root and Influences
CHAPTER 1: A Glimpse of the Anime History
A friend of mine, Kuya Dan, who is also a spiritual leader in our church, knew that I was writing a book about anime fanaticism. He was then very interested in the book. He told me that he was more concern about the anime history—to know where it all
