About this ebook

Beautiful, confident Tabby Karim has plans for the winter: nab a role in her school’s dramatic production, make the new boy Michael hers, and keep bigoted Heather—with her relentless Ay-rab comments—at bay. When a teacher’s lie and her father’s hastiness rob her of her beautiful hair, her dreams are dashed. The fastest barber in Miami Beach has made her look practically bald.

With all her pretty hair gone, Tabby doesn’t believe she fits the feminine role she’s auditioning for. Michael is still interested in her, but he’s playing it cool. Heather has taken to bullying her online, which is easier to do with Tabby’s ugly haircut. Tabby spearheads Operation Revenge, which proves satisfying until all of her problems deepen. After messing up, she sets to make things right.

I received this book through a giveaway on Library Thing by the author, but my opinions are all my own and were in no way swayed."Snip, Snip, Revenge" follows teenage Tabby, a student at a high school art studio, who tragically has her gorgeous hair cut off. Tabby feels like she lost herself along with her hair, and tries to figure out who she is throughout the book. She is a strong, independent character who can be overbearing at times. The way she speaks to teachers and the lack of trouble she gets into is slightly unbelievable but don't let that disuade you from reading this book. I finished it in a couple of hours. It is a quick read and I definitely don't regret it. The end did feel a bit rushed, but it also had a very finished feel to it which I appreciate.

I enjoyed this book, but felt a bit disappointed at the same time. Tabby did some horrible things and handled things horribly but didn't get in much trouble for it which seemed unrealistic. She seemed overly obsessed with her hair. Plus the character Mrs. Fuller should have gotten into a lot more trouble for misdiagnosing a student and being hateful to the students. Like the school board should have been involved.

Regardless it was a decent book and I finished it in a day so I was hooked. This is a good addition to any young adult lovers collection.

This story is about a high school drama student named Tabby who loves her hair. One day, a teacher that she is not too friendly with tells lies that lead to her father having all of her beautiful hair cut off. She vows revenge against the teacher, as well as others that stand in the way of her getting the parts she wants, the guy she wants, and those responsible for her losing her hair. I enjoyed this story, but it is more for teenagers than for me, but did give me flashbacks of life in high school.

Really good book. I think it reflects on young girls today and how looks are so important. I thought it had a good message and is a treat for young readers today!!

I enjoyed the book. Set mainly in a high school for the arts it explores growing up. It was interesting to read about Tabby's growth. It showed some of the things kids deal with on a regular basis. Teachers that the students don't like (I didn't like one of them myself), bullying and bigotry, gossip, poor self esteem, and family problems are explored, and handled well. The language was clean, there was no physical violence, and no overt sex scenes. All in all a great book for young adults. On a personal note I found the weather complaints amusing. I live in Northern Ontario Canada where 40 degrees below zero with the wind chill is not uncommon.I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for this honest review.

Very well written, easy to identify with, the cover projects an accurate image of what is found in the book. It is obviously written by a young writer, able to address many issues, young sister, Cari, Mother, Dad, stepmother, Song, her youngest sister, divorce, step family, step newborn sister, maturing, peer pressure, power of authority, all dealt with, with an understanding. I would say, I emphasize with the haircutting, it does change the way you are perceived and the way you feel about yourself. Even though her Dad took her to a barber shop, I do feel he did it with her best interest at heart, cutting off her beautiful hair on a false claim of lice.Tabassum Deniz Karim, "Tabby", voted "Most Likely to Win an Oscar, Best Drama Queen by her high school class, displays much emotion, affection, heartache, heartbreak, and love. I appreciate reading this book and thank the author for sharing and adding to the other excellent Library Thing books.

I enjoyed a lot of elements of this book - Tabby's vindictiveness, her realistic obsession with her looks, the way her school was portrayed - but the ending felt a little rushed, with everything falling into place for an unrealistically happy ending. It was a shame, because Tabby was a great YA character, flawed and powerful, and though it made sense for some of her problems to be resolved by the end and for her to make some realisations about herself (not that they necessarily stuck, which left me unsure if Tabby was an unreliable narrator or the author was leaning too heavily on telling rather than showing), I think some of the problems would have been better left open ended. As it was, it felt a bit fairytale in its neatness, while the rest of the book revelled in it's realistic portrayal of a teenage girl.
