Summer is almost over, and you know what that means—time to head back to school! But when a tropical storm ends A.J.'s vacation earlier than expected, he and his family have to stay at Andrea's house. Ugh, disgusting!

Soon after, everyone in the house starts getting cabin fever, and even back-to-school shopping won't calm the kids down. So, Andrea and A.J. are sent to Camp Ockatollyquay. The catch? It's a camp to get kids ready for school! But not to worry—Andrea and A.J. rally their Ella Mentry School friends to end their summer on a note they'll never forget.

Join A.J. and the gang from My Weird School in this special series of after-school, holiday-themed chapter books featuring hilarious stories and thirty-two pages of games, puzzles, and more. This is one weird back-to-school special you won't want to miss!

Author

Dan Gutman

Dan Gutman (b. 1955) is a prolific author of popular children’s books. He began his career with adult nonfiction books about baseball, covering topics such as the game’s greatest scandals and the evolution of its equipment. The birth of his first child inspired him to begin writing for a young audience, beginning with Baseball’s Biggest Bloopers (1993).   The Kid Who Ran for President (1996) became Gutman’s bestselling book, and has sold almost a million copies. In 1997, he published Honus & Me, a story about a young boy who finds a rare baseball card that magically takes him back to 1909 to play with the great Honus Wagner. Gutman went on to create a series about time-travel encounters with other baseball stars such as Jackie Robinson and Babe Ruth. Miss Daisy Is Crazy (2004) was the first My Weird School book, beginning a long-running series of more than forty novels. With Mission Unstoppable (2011), Gutman debuted a new adventure series: the Genius Files, starring fraternal twins Coke and Pepsi McDonald. The first book in the series became a New York Times bestseller. The sequel, Never Say Genius, was published in 2012. Gutman lives in New Jersey with his family.

It's Halloween and that means happy trick or treating! Nothing can go wrong right? Just a fun old holiday. All until a creepy Halloween monster shows up! Will A.J. let this freaky fiend take his treats? Read this book to find out! In my opinion this book is super hilarious! I also think the illustrations pair perfectly with the writing. The only reason I didn't give this book a five star review is the fact that it does not have an incretabaly satisfying ending.

This book was part of the flashback series I am continuing but, its a different one! A.J. is excited it is Halloween, and the best part is...... CANDY! He is very excited for this candy, and Halloween, but is not excited with what happens next. With the help of his "gang" he gets the candy he wants, and lives happily ever after- just kidding! Go read the book to find out more on this book! I have two more left in this flashback series!

My name is Andrea and I love school!

Ha! I bet you were expecting this story would be told by my boyfriend and future husband, A.J. Well, think again, silly! Arlo (that’s his real name) and his family are on summer vacation in Bermuda. They’re not coming back until next week, when school starts. So now it’s my turn. Finally, I get to tell my side of the story.

This is going to be fun! I even got a special notebook to write in. I love writing. Don’t you? (Oh, I guess you can’t answer that question because you’re on that side of the book and I’m on this side.)

Aren’t parentheses fun? (Answer yes or no here.) I love parentheses because I can pretend that I’m whispering into somebody’s ear (like this).

Let’s get started!

Aren’t exclamation points fun? I love exclamation points because I can pretend that I’m shouting (LIKE THIS!). Exclamation points are sort of like the opposite of parentheses. The more exclamation points you use, the louder you can shout!!!!!!!!!!!!! (See?)

I like question marks, too. (Don’t you?????)

In general, I’m a big fan of punctuation. (Can you tell?)

Anyway, as I was saying, I love school. School is cool. You can’t spell SCHOOL without COOL, right? The only thing I don’t like about school is that we can’t go there during the summer.

Do you know the reason why we don’t go to school in the summer? It’s because a long time ago when most kids lived on farms, they had to help out in the fields during July and August. I know that’s true because I looked it up in my encyclopedia. (I love looking up stuff.) Most of us don’t live on farms these days, so we should really go to school all year round, if you ask me.

Anyway, back to the story . . .

Ding-dong!

Oh, wait. Hang on a second. Somebody just rang the doorbell. That’s weird. It’s nighttime. Why would somebody be coming over to my house now? I’ll be right back.

I’ll get it, Mom! I shouted.

Who could that be at this hour? my mom asked.

Well, you’ll never believe who rang the doorbell.

It was Arlo!

The #1 reason why I love school . . .

Our wonderful teachers!

I love teachers because they are so nice to devote their lives to children (not
