Gian Dianti, of Florence, Italy, 1502, is persuaded to carry out a spy mission under the direction of Niccolò Machiavelli, against the forces of Cesare Borgia, assigned to find out if Leonardo de Vinci is designing weapons for Florence’s enemies. John Ness, a professor of ancient languages, sets out to research his family history and ends up solving an age old mystery.

Tears of Stone co-authors: Stephen Zeigler received his Ph. D. in Computer Science and Cognitive Simulation. He has led teams for four decades, delivering leading products in high reliability software development and device security. His spare time on the road has been devoted to investigating history's mysteries - such as the fall of Rome. Allyn Vannoy is the co-author of Against the Panzers, McFarland & Co., Inc. Publishers, as well as numerous magazine articles on military history appearing in WWII Quarterly, World at War, WWII History, Military Heritage, Strategy & Tactics. He spent over 18 years in the field of wireless software technology before retiring in 2016. He lives near Portland, Oregon.
