The Lockout, the 1916 Rising, the War of Independence and the Civil War. Events we hear a lot about packed into just a very few years, barely over a decade. But what did they mean, what forces gave rise to them, how did Ireland go from welcoming royalty in 1912 to independence in 1922?
In this exciting new history John Dorney, historian and editor of The Irish Story website, explores key years between 1912 and 1924 that saw huge change and violent upheaval in Ireland. he goes deep into the roots of the revolution that happened in those years, using the experiences of the men and women of the time to show us how and why the changes came about.
