About this ebook
In our post World War II consumer society we are taught how to be good customers rather than encouraged to be good producers who can look after ourselves. We rely on supermarkets to feed us and on pharmaceutical companies for good health rather than what we can produce in our farms and our gardens. We have lost a lot of traditional teachings, the knowledge of how and when and why is the best time to act to bring a chosen task to a successful completion. We forgot how to take responsibility for our health, our happiness, our lives. We forgot how to dance with the Moon’s energy.
We can all learn how to provide for ourselves and look after the wellbeing of our families. Understanding how to work with nature rather than battling with her can help us to live an easier life, a life in tune with natural forces that reduces our environmental impact. You have probably already done this even if you didn’t knowingly set out to be an environmental warrior. If you ever noticed that your daily needs like body care or gardening or craftwork have different results at different times, it is possible you have already naturally danced a few steps with natural energy. Moondance is an introduction as to how to dance with this lunar energy.

The Secret is:
Life is meant to be easier
The secret that we humans struggle to remember is that life is meant to be easier. Somewhere, somehow, sometime, we forgot how to live in tune with nature and with our true selves. We forgot how to listen to our bodies and our intuition, our own internal wisdom. We forgot how to dance with the natural energy that is freely available.
Do you remember a time when you got a really good haircut and your hair kept on looking good right up to your next haircut? Chances are that you got your hair cut when the moon was waxing in a fertile or semi-fertile sign. Or have you ever waxed to remove unwanted hair and then found that the hair grew back very, very slowly so you didn’t need to wax as often? Chances are that you waxed during a waning moon.
Have you ever harvested a crop of tomatoes from bushes that were lush and prolific and just kept on growing juicy luscious fruit? Then you wondered why next season your harvest was disappointing, even though you planted the same type of tomato in a garden bed just a couple of metres away from your original crop? Chances are you planted your first crop when the moon waxed gibbous in a fertile sign and your second crop during a waning crescent moon.
It was the timing and not the location that made a difference, because a difference of two weeks in planting can make all the difference.
Some days are pure diamonds when you can’t put a foot wrong, but did you ever have a day when nothing went right, when you felt spacey and could not concentrate? Chances are the moon was void-of-course at that time
