About this ebook
As director of the Port Frederick Civic Foundation, Jenny Cain is privy to the charitable intentions of the town's wealthiest citizens. There's eccentric old Arnie Culverson, who's promised millions to the local art museum. Who's found there one bright winter morning, neatly tucked into a priceless antique Chinese bed. With pillow and blanket. Dead. Then another dearly beloved donor dies in the night. And the killer leaves behind a nasty rhyme suggesting rich and beautiful Jenny will be next!

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I found the book to be a light read - quite predictable though. Hope the others are better.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story was pretty good if a bit expected but the mis-spellings, excessive use of commas in weird places, and lack of editing really distracted.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5One of her early works and definitely not one of her best. It dragged a bit, but she still pulled the wool over my eyes. This is when Jenny first meets Geoff and that was intriguing. Characterization in later works was better.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very entertaining & a very good first book. Jenny is mature & intelligent, & the interplay between her & Geof (copper & love interest) is enjoyable. Jenny is an amateur sleuth, & these books would be considered cozy mysteries, but there's nothing twee or cutesy about them as is too often the case these days. Definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series which I have already collected. I'd recommend this as a good read & the first in the series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5An entertaining and quickly read little mystery novel, set around a non-profit foundation in which the major donors seem to be dying. A decent mystery, though some things seem more obvious to the reader. A bit corny and old-school, but enjoyable characters and decent storytelling.
