I got this book simply because the cover shocked and intrigued me so. What a weird image to have on the front of your book, what did it mean? Who was this strange character and what on earth is 'Deathscent'?

I'll be honest in saying I didn't expect to love this book so much. It was a random buy and I'd never even heard of it before, I only glanced over the blurb and went where the impulse took me. Well, I could not put this book down. Really. It's a large book with 500 pages but I swallowed it up so quickly and ended the book just hoping with all my heart that there would be a sequel. However, it never came despite the author saying it was to be a trilogy. Poo!

This book hovers between genres, mostly taking up the fantasy and adventure categories. I'm struggling to write about it without giving away spoilers - but please, read it! It's a VERY good book and so underrated, the lead character is such an interesting individual, the need to know more about where he came from and who he is stays with you throughout the novel. I loved every bit of it!
