I have dedicated this book to the people that I love the most. My wife and friend Renea who has been the center of my universe for three decades. Thank you for your love and support. To my children Lawrence Jr. and Alicia who mean the world to me.

This project has become a reality because of the shining star of this undertaking my daughter Lauren. She was typist, editor, critic, consultant, and my right arm.

Thank you. I love you all.

    CHAPTER ONE

    DEJA VU

Matt watched quietly as the shadow of the helicopter danced along the backdrop of the fields below.  The gentle autumn breeze swayed the golden carpet of wheat back and forth as the chopper passed overhead.

Will sat just a few feet away from Matt but was completely oblivious to the scenery outside the window.  His mind was preoccupied with thoughts of his upcoming wedding to Nabila.  It’s been almost a year since those remaining on old Earth had been set free and the demise of the bloodthirsty ruler Taz.  Life without Art was a difficult adjustment, especially for Matt and Will now that the crop circles have begun to reappear.

Matt snapped his fingers in front of Will’s face as if he was attempting to wake him from a trance.

Hey Will, grab your gear man, we’re almost there.  Matt’s words did little to motivate his sluggish friend.

Will shook his head.  Why are we out here?  This is the fourth crop circle formation in two months.  I feel like a fraud.  You know damn well that without Art here taking all these pictures is just a waste of time and energy.

Matt reached for his camera while attempting to blunt Will’s pessimistic attitude.  We are here because President Spencer asked us to come here.  You know as well as I do that since the disappearance of the Oracles every leader in the Planetary Alliance has been on edge.  It’s as if their sight had been taken away.  Add that to the fact that these crop circles are nothing like the ones sent to us years ago and well…well, you get the picture.  We, my friend, are all they got.

He tossed Will his camera bag, let’s get to work.  The sooner we get this done, the sooner you can get back to your bride to be.

An hour later the job was finished. The men stopped by the church to light candles for the Peg Boys and L.A.  Coping with the loss of their friend Art was hard enough but shortly afterward, a mysterious debilitating disease had begun attacking the Peg Boys and L.A.  With months of testing by the best medical doctors in the galaxy finished things continued to look grim for the three young geniuses.

Out of fear and desperation, it was decided that their only chance of survival would be to send them to Tygalon in hopes that Elder Manook and his powerful herbs could once again work their magic.

After dinner, Sara activated the vid-screen so that she and Matt could catch up on the news around the galaxy.  The symbol in the backdrop of the newsroom indicated that the broadcast originated from the Planet Lazon.  The pink haired woman reading the news showed no emotion as she informed viewers of the breakout from The Island.

Hundreds of prison escapes swam to freedom after finding a way to short circuit every camera on the penal colony late last night.  The Truth Seekers have been unable to determine how the clever prisoners were able to shut down hundreds of eel bots that have been successful in containing criminal masterminds for a half century.

Matt knew that Sara had a sense of knowing when he was hiding something so in an attempt to outwit her he got up and headed toward the kitchen.

Matthew!  Matt knew from the tone of her voice that he was busted, Don’t even try it.  What are you hiding?

Matt stopped in his tracks and slowly turned to face his wife.  He had given his word.  This was a topic that was never supposed to be discussed ever again, but things were different now.  She had a right to know.

Matt sat down and put his hand on Sara’s knee.  Well, Sara honey, remember High Ruler Belzorot?

Sara nodded yes.  Remember how he suddenly stepped down for health reasons?

Yeah, Sara nodded again.  Matt paused and rubbed his hands together.  Well baby, that was not entirely true.  Turns out that Belzorot was the traitor we were trying to catch a while back.  The Planetary Alliance hushed it up.  They shipped him off to the Island faster than you could blink.

Matt, why are you telling me this now? He’s probably long gone right.  Matt sat staring at the floor.  Matt honey, come on you’re scaring me.

Matt went on to tell Sara about Belzorot’s concern for his family.  He told her there was a slim chance he would attempt to seek revenge on Matt and his family but to be on the safe side, they should send the children away until he was captured.

The following week there was another crop circle sighting.  Will and Matt were summoned to the White House. The men were not eager to go especially since they still had no answers for the President.

Will’s attempt to charm the President went over like a lead balloon.  Good afternoon, Madam President, it’s good to see you again.  Is that a new dress?

Cut the crap Will, your sweet talk is giving me a cavity.  This is the same dress I wore the last time you two were here.  I’ll get right to the point.

Will murmured under his breath.  You always do.

    What was that, Will?

Oh, nothing Madam President  Will actually admire her style.

President Elizabeth Spence was a no-nonsense, take no prisoners kind of gal.  Walk with me while we talk guys.  The German Chancellor and President of France are off world but after the fiasco of bungling the rescue the Triad has seen the errors of their ways and have decided to disband."

It was hard for Matt to hear over the click-clacking of the President’s high heels as she strutted down the hall.  She stopped by the elevator,  pulled out a key card and inserted it in a slot that opened a secret panel.

When she pushed the small black button the doors to the elevator slid open.  After entering the elevator, she looked at Matt and Will before pushing the button on the bottom of the panel of the elevator.

My right toe aches.  It’s been aching for a few weeks now; do you know what that means?

Will began to smile as he pointed to her shoes.

Don’t make me hurt you Will.  This is serious. It means trouble is on the way.  My toe has never been wrong.

When the elevator doors opened, the President smiled as she extended her arms.  Look familiar boys?

It was the same as Old Earth, but this room looked different, sleek, and more modern.  President Spencer waved her arms out toward the men and women operating the massive computers that filled most of the area.

You have no idea how many arms I had to twist to get this room built. The Planetary Alliance is quaking in their boots.  A year ago, when that crazy ass Taz got himself killed members of the alliance climbed down from their ivory towers and threw themselves a big party. Things are different now. With no Oracles to guide them and the big prison breakout from the Island, they are desperate for any information that could give them the heads up on what’s coming next.  Right now, the crop circles are their best bet.

The President led Will and Matt into a small twelve by fourteen-foot room just off the main floor.  Matt surveyed the room.  This is new.  I don’t remember seeing this in the old war room.

President Spencer smiled. This is the new home of your transmat.  She pushed a button on her remote control and the center of the floor quickly slides open to reveal Matt’s trans-mat.  Since the word has gotten out everybody and their mother has been trying to get their hands on this, the CIA, FBI, Homeland, scientists, even the military.  I’m glad you agreed to loan it to us at least until things cool off.  She looked at her watch.

The alliance is sending us our very own Astro-Numerologist.  No offense boys but they believe he can help us with the latest crop circle mysteries.

Will shrugged his shoulders no offense taken.  When is he coming?  The President checked her watch.

Oh in about 30 seconds or so.  No sooner did she get the words out the mat went into a light show frenzy displaying flickering orange, yellow, blue red and green lights.

Within seconds, a male wearing a long-hooded robe stood before them. The silver ambulant around his neck glittered against the material of the dark gray garment.  The amulet was formed in the shape of an eye.  It was the symbol of the Oracle.  When the traveler removed the hood Will was stunned.

Nolan, what are you doing here?  And why are you wearing the symbol of the oracles?

Nolan bowed.  Madam President, Will, Matt.  I bid you peace.  He turned to Will.

I have been dispatched by my King.  He held up a small gold colored box.  As to your second question, Will I am sure you are aware that the Oracles are no longer with us.  This gray robe indicates that I must ascend one final step before I can don the black garment and become a true oracle of the realm.  Madam President, it is good to see you again.  Nolan handed her the box.

President Spencer’s demeanor changed drastically when Nolan arrived.  She was able to turn on her role as a political leader as easy as you would flick a light switch.  Inside the box were five thin silver bracelets.  She handed one each to Matt and Will.  You must wear these at all times when you are in this area.  She pointed to the War Room outside.  Will and Matt had not noticed it before, but everyone on the floor including Nolan and the President wore one of the silver bracelets.

Nolan realized that an explanation was in order.  A gift from King Zerelius of Xanar he explained, a small token of his appreciation for your President’s cooperation.

The president pulled a small device from her pocket.  It looked a lot like a pen light.  This has been engraved with my DNA.  No one else can operate it.  When I push this button anyone on this level of the building not wearing a bracelet will receive an electric charge that would incapacitate them for approximately twenty minutes depending on their weight and size.

Will reached for the device so that he could get a closer look.  You mean it’s like a really bad ass taser gun?

Elizabeth Spencer smiled.  I prefer to call it my security system for Matt’s trans-mat.  In exchange, I promised the king that I would notify him first when the crop circle codes are broken.

Matt seemed a bit miffed.  How is Nolan able to use my trans-mat if it’s only programmed for me, Will and Art?

I am sorry Matt, but I allowed them to add a chip that will also allow Nolan and the numerologist to travel to and from Xanar and Earth.  We needed this deal in case Rotart or Taz has any more deranged offspring out there looking for revenge.  If you have a problem with it just say the word and I will call the deal off.

Matt and Will trusted then president.  She was a bit strange at times, but she was smart and fair.

Matt gave her the nod.  Do what you think is best.  We need to be ready especially if your toe is right again.

Everybody laughed except Nolan.  A few minutes later the Astro-Numerologist arrived on the mat.  His appearance was not very different from the others but if you knew what to look for you would quickly realize that this was not your run of the mill alien.

On his left wrist was a small but very sophisticated calculator. The calculator was attached to a black six-inch band that was wrapped around his arm as if he were wearing a watch.  On his right ring finger, he wore a blue pulsating ring with the symbol of pi.

It was late when Matt and will finally left the White House.  During the ride home, they discussed the significance of the planetary alliance sending the soon to be Oracle of Xanar and numerologist on the same day.

Will wondered aloud What do they know that we don’t?  In time he will be sorry he asked.

    CHAPTER TWO

    SEEDS OF DESTRUCTION

To say that Julie and Nabila’s relationship was strained would be an understatement. Ever since Will showed Nabila the Oracle’s message she had insisted that Art was still alive.

Julie felt that Nabila’s remarks were cruel and hurtful.  It was no surprise that she was a no-show when Sara, Nyssa, and Lysta got together with Nabila at Will’s house to make plans for her big wedding.

It was a hot, muggy August evening.  Will and Matt sat on the back porch drinking cold beers.  You alright Will?  Not getting cold feet already are you?

Will took a sip his beer and shook his head, "no way, man.  I’d marry her tomorrow if I could. Eight months seems so far away after what
