This short story is just the beginning of the Fearless Love series and the very first venture for me into the wonderful world of LGBT romance. As my alter ego, Tammy Dennings Maggy, I’ve written love scenes between two women, but never between two men. As Lia Michaels I can be free to explore the dynamics between two men torn between what society tells them is taboo and what their hearts crave. With Abraham and Ethan, I went even further. Researching how the Native American culture views gay and lesbian people, I became fascinated by the Two Spirits. Not male or female but both, these people are considered to be blessed by the Great Spirit. They are honored and revered by the entire tribe, so much so that expectant parents pray for their child to be one.

Unfortunately, when the Europeans came to the New World that all changed. Two Spirits were condemned by these outsiders as being immoral and against nature. Some tribes no longer hold Two Spirit people in high regard and shun them. Without tribal support and little tolerance of them in the non-Native culture, they’ve had to keep hidden, denying their own nature just to fit in.

This short story and the book that follows are dedicated to all Two Spirits, whether they’re accepted by their tribes or not.

To the same sex military couples who are now being recognized as MARRIED, this series is dedicated to you.

To all the same sex couples who are now able to legally wed in more and more states in this country, I dedicate these tales to you.
