    I'm originally from California, southern to northern. I taught ESL for 8 years in Colombia, South America and then settled in Houston, TX. Settled isn't quite right; Houston is where I've chosen to ride out life's roller coaster. My third flash fiction on Smashwords, titled Mirrors, will be out in March 2014. I like the flash format because it allows me to complete a project. This is especially important whenever my novel, La Selva, doesn't cooperate and just stares back at me. My novel is set in Colombian jungle full of cartels, guerillas and missionaries. Perhaps Houston isn't providing the proper stimuli and I need to throw my laptop and some jeans in the backseat and drive away, destination unknown.
