I am an Industrial Safety specialist who spends his down time writing novels and blogging. I live in Massachusetts with my lovely wife and three wonderful sons, and two very fat and lazy house cats.I am a former competitive All-Natural Bodybuilder and Powerlifter who was also very active in various Martial Arts systems and formats over the years and I have all the scars to go along with them.I guess I'd call myself a "Pulp Fiction" writer, meaning that I'm not out to write the next great American Novel - I just write fun and exciting stories and hope that you, the reader, are as entertained in reading them as I was in creating them.

The Return
Dirae the Sin Slayer smiled fiercely, her nostrils flaring as she breathed in deep the familiar scents of the sea. She eased back the hood of her heavy woolen cloak exposing her beautiful face to the cool night air. It was late autumn and the wind was just beginning to chill with the promise of a winter yet to come. She shook her head and let her sandy-blonde mane of hair unfurl in the breeze as if it was a banner proclaiming her return to the crime ridden streets of Pern, to anyone watching it was her flag raised in the wind for the sinners of the lower city to see and fear. She stood at the first of many steps, wide and flat, which led slowly and inexorably down to the docks, and the old city wharf. This was the real Pern, the first settlers of the seaside metropolis had landed here, had made their homes and business along the natural curve of the bay.
That was long ago, now Pern stretched for miles inland, the bay and its wharfs all but forgotten by those it supplied with foods and merchandise. Here, life was hard and short. Men were bold and women had to be strong to survive or quick of wit to make a living off of those they bled like vampires in the night. Dirae moved down and down, winding her way from level to level, lowering herself into the oldest and most bleak parts of the city until at last she came upon the lowest level, the dockside itself. Behind her the city rose tier above tier to climb the hills surrounding the bay, the rich and famous lived upon the heights, the higher one went the wealthier and more powerful they were. But here at the bay was where the people lived, her people.
Before her the Great Eastern Ocean opened wide, reaching out across the horizon toward the slowly rising moon, its silvery beams bounced off the rippling swells of the sea below her lighting them like a million tiny diamonds.
Her gray-green eyes reflected the scene like chilling twin mirrors. She closed them slowly and breathed deep once more. She could taste the malevolence in the air, here there were evil men doing monstrous things for even more horrendous reasons. Here live started with a cry, lingered with a curse, and ended in a gasp.
Now I am home,
the Sin Slayer sighed softly.
She stood atop the East Breakwater, a great man made wall designed to take the incessant battering of the tides. It was older than memory itself, no one in the city could rightfully say who or even when it was originally build. She stationed herself at the very edge and, looking down, thrilled at the power of the raging ocean. Even now it crashed itself against the huge wall, angered at being denied its natural course, vainly hurling its weight against the stone again and again. Spray lifted high into
