About the Author
Lorrie Bracaloni has been a professional pet groomer for more than thirty years. Throughout her career she has owned and operated several grooming shops and mobile vans, trained and schooled more than fifty groomers, working in grooming shops and vet clinics, all while grooming in the home.
It all began with a request from a client who was unable to bring her dog to the grooming shop where I was employed. She asked if I could come to her home and groomer her miniature poodle. I agreed expecting the experience to be difficult, challenging and most likely impossible. What I found was freedom! The grooming process was not hard at all and the best part was no percentage split – the money was mine to keep!
As the years progressed, Lorrie’s business expanded to include two mobile vans and two grooming shops employing more than fifteen people. Realizing that there must be an easier way, she recalled the ease and freedom of her first in home grooming experience. She eventually sold her other business, and began in-home grooming exclusively.
Lorrie was able to bring her favorite clients and pets with her, meet her financial goals each week, and reduce her work time in half.
I found more time and more freedom in my day, not only to handle my work commitment, but also to play, run errands, care for my family, and even have a little extra time to shop in my favorite stores when grooming in certain neighborhoods.
I have had the privilege of lasting friendships and watching my clients’ children grow, have families of their own and, of course, caring for their pets throughout the years.
Today, Lorrie is still working smarter, not harder, and is excited to share her ideas with you, the professional hard working groomer, how to become a smart working groomer by bringing your grooming business to the client’s home.
