Valentine’s Day Report – In Progress

    Cupid 1127 here.

I first encountered Unlikely Subject Abbie Harper while cruising Facebook for a most improbable pair to bring together. You will note, sir, this is immediately after our meeting. I would make an excellent personal assistant for you because I never, ever procrastinate. Also, I’m a thoroughly modern Cupid. Note my use of the Internet. I bet all the other cadets are walking the streets. How archaic!

Every status on Abbie’s profile centered on her daughter. Clearly, she focused on family instead of herself, but I sensed longing beneath these updates for something else. This young widow needed to find love again, but my candidate would to have to be right under her nose. Like someone in her daughter’s life.

I searched through her Friends and didn’t find any single men. Talk about a tough subject! Time to dig further.

Abbie had Friended the Vancouver, Washington school her seven-year-old daughter attended and so I dug into the school’s Friend list. Would a teacher be a good fit? Improbable, unlikely, but impossible? Not for this cadet.

Who did I find, you ask? The most unlikely match for her of all – Jake Cordalys. Yes, the guy is as sexy as they come, and certainly has no trouble finding the ladies, but true love has eluded him so far. Maybe because he’s so good-looking? Beauty can attract the wrong kind of partners, just like money can. You lectured on that subject once, sir. I take excellent notes, which also qualifies me to be your Best Assistant Ever. But I digress.

Jake’s a substitute teacher in the school. Not a perfect match for Abbie. In fact, I’m certain no one but me could brew true love between a wealthy youngish widow and a younger, poorer man, especially one who was about to move three hundred miles away,  but I will make it happen. The impossible match!

These two are tough to help, so I’m sure you’ll understand my personal involvement in the case. Above and beyond, that’s what this case required. Not just my quiver of arrows, but a word in the ears, in the dreams, of my subjects. Will it work out for Jake and Abbie? I’ve made excellent progress, and they’ve had great sex, but frankly, we’ve also have experienced setbacks. You’ll have the complete report soon.

Love this complicated takes time to sort out!

    Chapter One

Look at that bachelor, Abbie Harper exclaimed, her voice muffled by the roar of the crowd. He’s perfect!

She clapped her hands over her mouth. Had she just said that? Thankfully, none of the eager matrons at her table were listening. The current bachelor being raffled off at the Parents Against Juvenile Leukemia Benefit did capture her imagination with his sexy looks, but how had she wound up at this karaoke bar? The last thing she remembered before finding herself in this seat staring at Bachelor Number Ten was mopping her kitchen floor. Now she was holding cash in her hands. A lot of cash.

She stared into the spotlight at center stage and rubbed at her chest, which felt prickly, as if she’d been stung by something. The sexy bachelor had dark hair slicked back by gel and thick eyebrows protecting eyes that danced with good humor. His nose perched on his face too expansively to be considered Grecian, but years of smiles had built the dimples in his cheeks. A tight tuxedo displayed his perfectly fit male form. Oddly enough, he rubbed his chest too, as if he’d been stung by the same bug.

He was indeed gorgeous, but Abbie’s ears perked up when she heard the auctioneer, a tiny senior citizen with a booming voice, say what the stud’s date included.
