About this ebook

This is the second novel in the series of the Sheriff Bull Toros mysteries. The first novel “Murder on Monkey Mountain” finds Bull returning to his home made Ozark cabin in Washo County Missouri, from his military service in Vietnam. The then Sheriff and his wife are murdered in a part of a series of gang related and conspiratorial murders and arson. In “Murder” you will read that the county judges have asked Bull to run for election and fill the vacancy of the deceased Sheriff. Bull has met Colonel Loni Abel, and her executive secretary Anita. Loni is an Air Force base commander. Bull is reunited with an old friend Pete “The Greek” who does pinstriping and motorcycle art at rallies. Bull and Loni both ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and have karate training, both of which have a key part in the first novel. There is some talk of the Jesse James treasure possibly hidden in a cave on Monkey Mountain. But will they discover more than a long hidden and forgotten treasure?
This novel reunites Bull and Loni, Anita and Pete as they kindle their romance and begin their search of the cave. The last of the Cherokee tribe Big Chief, who knows everything about the mountain, plays a very important part. They will encounter a man-like creature known as Mo-Mo. In other parts of the country it may be known as Big Foot or Sasquatch. Will they find a treasure? Will they find much more in this cave? Will they survive what they find? You will have to read the novel to find out.
We have several other short novels soon to be published. “Old Doc Franklin” is a creative and historical of the Tennessee civil war period. “A Time to Die” is also of that period. If you were intrigued by Mo-Mo, we have one named “Whistler” coming up. If you prefer a belly laugh, “Yard Sale” is also in the works.

Loni Abel, the heroine in my novels, is my wife, and a retired USAF Colonel (O-6) and base commander in real life. I am a former AF security force officer. We both have black belt karate training and enjoy riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. I am a retired law enforcement officer. I have served in the sheriffs department, highway patrol and state fire marshal departments. We bring alive our experiences, embelished a bit, to keep our readers on the edge of the pages. "Murder on Monkey Mountain" is the first in a series of novels of the Sheriff Bull Toros novels, dealing with a fictitious Hades 1% motorcycle gang, Don Vito Cormone, head of a mob syndicate. A corrupt syndicate of murder and arson of elderly victims for insurance fraud. We involve a hidden treasure of the Jesse James gang in a cave on Monkey Mountain. Big Chief, the last of the Cherokee clan, who knows everything on the mountain, including the heritage of the Mo-Mo, or Big Foot, Sasquatch. You will not be dissapointed. I could go on, but you will have to read the novel? The sequel, "Menace On Monkey Mountain." is now published on Smashwords. (Nov.2013) Also to come, "Whistler" involves a logging camp, Big Foot, or Mo-Mo as he is called in Missouri. Then we have two novels, "Old Doc Franklin" and "A Time To Die" set in the Civil War era of Tennesse. Chapter One

As Loni and I rode in the front seats of my Jeep and my close friends Pete and Anita were in the back, we headed east by south-east, down from the top of Monkey Mountain. We heard a very loud screeching, whistling, series of hoots and grunts, followed by an extremely deep and guttural growl. All above the engine noise of my Jeep. It seemed to reverberate on the entire peak of the mountain.

I stopped and shut off the engine. We all looked at one another and listened for another sound. We heard another series of grunts, followed by what sounded like tree limbs breaking. That was followed by chilling screams, rising from a low roar to a deafening crescendo. We waited as I pulled the .357 Magnum from my holster. Not hearing anything more and waiting a couple of minutes, I scanned the trees all around us. Then I started the Jeep and we continued on to my cabin.

What the hell was that Bull? asked Loni.

Pete and Anita leaned forward from the back seat and asked, almost in unison, Was it a bear?

I can tell you for sure, it definitely was not a bear, I said.

Then Loni asked, If it wasn't a bear, then what could make that kind of sound?

As we drove I said, "There are stories about a Missouri Monster known as 'Mo-Mo.' As the Sheriff of Washo County I have investigated evidence that was not a hoax. I have had some reports from reliable witnesses who claim they have actually seen it. There are skeptics who claim
