As a student of the Michael Teachings this book is provided all the information I was looking for in other resources like the Crystal Bible. But I think it does not give you that much insight if you are not really familiar with Michael topics like Roles, Frequency, Female/Male Energy-Ratio etc.

INTRODUCTION

Ever since that evening in November of 1984, when we received channeling from Michael on the metaphysical properties of a few dozen popular gemstones, our fascination with this subject has grown. We and other Michael students have collected and researched gemstones and minerals from all over the world. We have haunted gem shows and rock shops; questioned jewelers, geologists and gemologists; read dozens of metaphysical and scientific books; and channeled extensively on the topic.

We use the term stone to include all stones. Gems or gemstones mean stones that have gem or gem-like qualities. Some stones can just be a stone or have certain specimens that are gem-like. Many people add the term quality to the word gem although we don’t hold that a non-gem stone is worse than a gem or gem-like specimen.

The first stones on which we received channeling were the most popular and readily available gems and minerals such as Diamonds, Sapphires, Gold Tiger Eye and Blue Lace Agate. They were easy to find and sold universally under the same familiar names.

Once we began gathering information on less common stones, however, we ran into some problems. Someone would bring us a stone, hearing of our research; we would channel on its usage; and then, innocently assume they had given us its correct name. Once we realized how often people were mistaken about mineral names, we began checking our data for inconsistencies and errors.

We found some stones had been mislabeled. For example, we found that Elinoclase was really Clinoclase and Tacchantite was really Tacharanite. We found other stones misidentified. Finally, we discovered Michael's ability to read a stone's metaphysical properties from its chemical composition. That cleared things up considerably. We now did not necessarily have to have an example of the stone itself to determine its metaphysical value.

Another problem is that a mineralogical term that was acceptable in the past may have been replaced by a new term which those who decree such things, regard as more accurate. Aegerine, for example, used to be the accepted mineralogical name for Acmite: and yet, in California, it is still often found labeled as Aegerine. In these cases, we have left both names in the dictionary referring readers from the older names to the new and presenting the definition under the newest name we've found. Obviously, this name changing practice provides us with continual opportunities for revision.

Another challenge we've had in writing this book is the tendency that rock dealers have to name the same stone a different name if it's found in a different region. Hence Sonoma Opal in California, becomes Mountain Opal in Colorado and California Opal" in Utah. How confusing! They are the exact same Opal with the same metaphysical qualities. Stones continue to be discovered as well. Moldavite, Boji Stones and Sugilite have been discovered within the last 40 years.

Some of the gemstones and minerals you will see listed in the dictionary are rarer and more difficult to find than others However, this being a dictionary; we have included every stone that we have ever channeled on for the purpose of being as complete a reference as possible. There is always more than one stone that will accomplish the same purpose.

Michael Gemstone Dictionary Part 2 is an addendum with improvements to the original Michael Gemstone Dictionary. Not every stone in the original book is included in this version but all the popular stones are.

Who Is Michael?

Michael is the name taken by a group of 1050 individuals, once flesh and blood humans like ourselves. After completing their physical lives on Earth, they bonded in spirit form in the Causal Plane---into an entity so cohesive that they now consider themselves a unit. Hence, the singular name Michael.

Michael now teaches us, from a higher plane of existence speaking through human channels, as they have done through the ages. The goal of the Michael entity in teaching us is to promote a planetary shift from a self centered human society, to one of tolerance and mutual respect.

What is the Michael Teaching?

Michael's teaching views life as a cosmic game in which one sets up lessons which continue over many lifetimes. These lessons are learned through the personality that one’s soul or essence designs each lifetime. Michael's system describes the various personality traits which each person chooses before birth, and---with the many options available---it is rare to find two individuals who are exactly alike in all aspects.

Michael teaches this system of personality so we can better understand the behavior and motivations of ourselves and those around us, and become more unconditionally tolerant and compassionate. The section of this book entitled Michael's System of Personality, describes the metaphysical properties of relevant gemstones using the terminology of the Michael teaching. Read it and see if you resonate with the system. You may become a Michael student yourself.

One of the most important principles of the Michael Teaching is that it is not a religion or dogma. Being a Michael student involves no uniformity of belief. We self validate all channeled information and take nothing on faith, because channeling is not an exact science. All you need, to be a Michael student, is a desire to grow, a desire to see life in a new perspective, and a willingness to use those parts of Michael's information you accept for the highest purpose.

PREFACE

Since early times, mankind has been fascinated with the beauty and power of gemstone and minerals. Druids used them for healing as well as for their religious rituals. Medieval Europeans ground them into powders for medicinal purposes. That is still done today. Gem encrusted seals were used to seal the letters of Rulers. The Tibetans regarded Quartz Crystals as one of the eight auspicious symbols in Buddhism.

For thousands of years, South American Indians have used a variety of gemstones and minerals to insure the excellent growth of their crops. They bury them in the ground at strategic points throughout the fields and refuse to reveal the secret of exactly which stones they use, and where and how they are placed. It is well known, however, that the Amaranth crops of the Andes grown by these methods produce an incredible harvest.

In modem times, the interest in gemstones and minerals has continued unabated. Technological uses for gemstones are common: Rubies are used for lasers, Diamonds for cutting tools, and Quartz Crystals for electronic equipment. More people than ever, can afford to buy gemstones and minerals for beauty and adornment. Interest has revived in the metaphysical properties of gemstones and minerals and many people are exploring, yet anew, the power of gemstones and minerals to heal, to improve communication, to stay balanced and to achieve spiritual growth.

Gemstones and minerals represent energy in its most solid form. Each gemstone or mineral has its own energetic characteristics that allow us to distinguish one from the other. They vary in chemical composition, in type of crystalline structure (or lack of it), in degree of hardness and color. Michael tells
