Geronimo was born in the 1820s. No one knew the exact date, not even Geronimo.
When he was born, his father gave him the name Gokhlayeh, or One Who Yawns.
Very little is known of his early life growing up in what is now Arizona. Back then it was Indian land and it had different names to different tribes.
