About this ebook
In a town full of werewolves and legends, Charlotte Peterson is unique. As the first ‘pure-bred’ werewolf in Echo Falls, she struggles to fit in even amongst her pack.
When Dr. Adam Baker arrives in town, Charlotte is forced to balance their growing friendship with her need to keep the pack’s secrets – and her own. But she is not the only one keeping secrets and Adam’s past could threaten them all.
That is not the only danger. Compass, the genetic research company intent on isolating the ‘werewolf gene’, will do whatever it takes to gain the final advantage over all werewolves. Compass CEO Calvin Stephens has a very special plan in mind for Charlotte...
Time is running out for Charlotte and the pack as Calvin’s plans near completion. In a town where secrecy is the key to survival, can Charlotte trust Adam to help her? Or has she revealed the deadliest secret of them all?

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I received this book from LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review.I enjoyed this book. The characters were all strong. The world that the author created was interesting and and the story was easy to follow.

Technically speaking the writing is flawless, written and edited very well and clearly a lot of thought went into the plot.
Unfortunately, it just didn't really work for me. I only really particularly enjoyed the last 20% where something finally happened. While I do like the setting, the small town and werewolf pack living, I found Charlotte to be a rather flat and boring main character. I just couldn't see the appeal of her when she was supposed to be very special.
I found her whiny and annoying and on more than one occasion her actions in defying pack orders and only thinking of what she wanted to do rather selfish. I felt no real connection between her and Dr Adam Baker much at all. Nothing really happened between them until very late on in the story and I just didn't feel it.
The pacing of the plot was very very slow. While it was well written and interesting enough that I did read the whole thing, there was very little action in the story until nearly at the end, and by the time I finished, it was a rather meh feeling about the whole thing.
My favourite character was actually the delightfully intriguing Stephanie Kent. When she's first introduced she comes of as an ice queen of a personal assistant, but actually turns out to be a very interesting character. The villain of the story was an interesting character as well, his misdeeds and devious and appalling actions were all covered up with an air of Mr Nice Businessman doing a favour for the town in bringing his company in. Where of course the company had a hidden agenda.
Overall rating 2.5 stars. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The story picks up twenty years after 'Echo Falls.' Baby Charlotte from book one is working as the doctor's receptionist. Charlotte is special as she is a 'pure bred' werewolf and the first of that kind in the Echo Falls pack. Charlotte is obsessed with all things hunter related and spends much of her time researching and filling her scrap book with any information she can garner about hunters. She fears an organised attack from hunters and believes that werewolves should band together and be prepared. It has been twenty years since the last hunter attack so Charlotte's research falls on deaf ears. When Adam, the new doctor, comes into town there is an instant attraction between him and Charlotte. He becomes suspicious about the townsfolk and it is inevitable that he finds out about werewolves. However, Adam is keeping secrets of his own. Charlotte is highly suspicious of 'Compass,' a genetic research company that has set up in Echo Falls and takes an instant dislike to Calvin Stephens its CEO. Calvin is working on isolating the werewolf gene so that he can eradicate them from the world. Calvin sets his sights on Charlotte for his own special plan. With the very survival of the werewolf race at stake Charlotte has no option but to take a chance on trusting Adam to help her defeat this threat. This was my favourite out of the three books. It is well written, fast paced and filled with suspense and action. A real page turner.

This book picks up 20 years after Aidan and Phoebe's story. This is the story of Charlotte who was a toddler in the Echo Falls. Her journey to finding her place and purpose as a purebred werewolves amongst the pack of Echo Falls. Stronger and more skilled than the others she feels alone and misunderstood, her past haunting her her present and her future unclear. Her quest for answers lead to more questions and danger shadows them.
Once again I felt that there was too much repetition, but Jamie McDougall has a certain style to her writing, where she hints to certain aspects of the story but doesn't completely reveal those secrets, building up the suspense factor. I guess as a reader it made me impatient to get on with the story, but then I must respect the author's own style/ - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Not everything or everyone is what it seems in Echo Falls. Werewolves quietly go about their lives while Hunters infiltrate their town. The leaders of the pack do not want to draw attention to themselves or the pack so they want Charlotte to leave her research into the Hunters alone but Charlotte is determined to protect the pack when the Hunters show themselves in Jaime McDougall’s FADING ECHOES, book 2 of her ECHO FALLS series. When a new doctor comes to town while the old doctor must go away for a while Charlotte finds herself torn between pack law and the new doctor. What will happen if he finds out about the werewolves? Will Charlotte go against pack law with her research? Is she right about the Hunters?FADING ECHOES is a fantastic read. This can be read without reading book 1 first. Enough information is given that I found it easy to pick up the back story and follow it through the present tale. I loved these characters. Charlotte remembers a past that her parents and the pack alphas would love for her to forget. She cannot and she decides it is important enough to defy them in her quest to keep the pack safe. When she meets the new doctor, Adam Baker, it is difficult to keep her secret with the strong attraction between them. Naturally, Adam also has secrets. The supporting characters are a strong bunch also. Jaime McDougall’s characters are well-developed and written. She lets us know who they are, what they stand for, and they remain in their character. Even the villain is well-defined.The story kept my interest. I was asking questions about what was going on and what happened to different people. I wanted to know. FADING ECHOES was very had to put down. When I finally had to close the pages, because the book ended, I wanted to know what happens next. FADING ECHOES is perfect for those who love paranormal romantic suspense. It has the suspense of the mystery, the romance which builds slowly for all the attraction, and werewolves. What could be better?
