EXCERPT:
Greta was encompassed in warmth and light. Glancing down, she saw that her white dress glowed and the air before her shimmered. Slowly, hand outstretched, she took another step, then another.
The circle of warm air around her disappeared, and she found herself standing in the middle of a street cast in an eerie light, as if from bright moonlight. Though she saw no source for the light, it seemed to concentrate on a building straight ahead, and as if her shoes had a mind of their own, they carried her in that direction.
The building was nondescript; old, decrepit, something that was likely awaiting demolition. Yet, the music she had heard before encountering the strange, warm vortex grew louder as she approached. The sense of warmth and pleasure in Greta’s body seemed to grow as she came closer. She pressed a hand to her chest, her throat, her cheeks, and was startled to feel beads of sweat there. The sensation spread downwards, and with embarrassment, she realized she was beginning to feel a sensual ache between her thighs. As she climbed the steps of the building, she thought she felt a bit of moisture forming there...
The music was louder now, but Greta could still hear voices above the sound. Voices and other noises. It sounded like...
“Sex,” she breathed.
She paused outside the door, hand stretched toward the handle. The building seemed to pulse with a nearly palpable sexual energy. Her fingertips touched the wrought iron handle, wrapped around it.
Greta’s back arched as spasms of pleasure wracked her body. Warmth turned to incredible heat that radiated through every part of her.
Oh my god, what is happening to me? Greta wondered, even as another convulsion hit her. Fear and awe warred within her. I have to get out of here...

I have to get home, she thought desperately, and began to run again.
Chapter Two
THREE MONTHS EARLIER…
Greta paused at the store window and gazed with longing at the red shoes displayed enticingly on a length of beaded golden cloth. Blood red Italian leather, the shoes stood on a small platform and five inch gold stiletto heels and gold details on the straps. Four straps crossed the toes, a slim, X-shaped tongue ran up the center of the foot, and long strands of leather wrapped around the ankle.
The window case held other items that Greta assumed the store owner had thought to match the shoes – gold earrings with red stones, a red beaded necklace, and a red and gold pashmina scarf. Greta was interested in none of these. She approached the
