8 Ways to Annoy Liam
It was a well known fact in Kemch that King Liam could endure any situation without a single negative emotion on his face. Sure he would look sad at a memorial or look suitably stern when giving an order for a punishment, but those weren’t really negative. Appropriate, even.
No. Negative emotions referred to a subtle grimace as he touched something covered with filth (inevitable for those living in less-than-stellar residences), a faint frown as people pestered him way after he was meant to leave, an unhappy look when people insulted him (not that there were many of them), stuff like that.
In conclusion, to the citizens of Kemch, King Liam could not be fazed by anything.
She begged to differ.
As the childhood friend of one 20-year-old king, Carla was in the unique position of having plenty of opportunities to push Liam’s buttons without fear of getting punished (not that Liam would actually use his authority on such ‘minor’ stuff). To date, she had compiled 8 sure-fire ways to get Liam annoyed.
#1 Sit on his favourite chair
In the castle was a library exclusive to the royal family. Naturally, Carla barged in whenever she felt like it. Hidden among the haphazardly placed bookshelves was this delightful dark blue armchair that was just the right size for curling up in. The best thing about the chair was that there was only one way to get to it, and it involved a sharp curve. If she was on the chair, Liam wouldn’t know it until he was just a few steps from her. That meant that there was no time to mask that flicker of annoyance on his face.
#2 Serve him oats
When Liam was younger, there was one year when he was very sickly. In an attempt to improve his health, Liam was fed oats every morning. Liam was never such a big fan of oats in the first place, and getting oats every day for month after month just made him dislike it more and more. No matter how hard the royal cooks tried to vary the flavours, they
