Jody rode into town on the back of old faithful, he'd been cruising the deadlands out to the east, dark red dust kicking back a trail from old faithful’s feet now safely tethered to a stay out front of the last chance saloon. The dark wooden doors swinging in the dust and passage of flat dry air that marked his entry to the bar. He walked slowly to the bar past the gaming and drinking tables. his long black coat stained grey in the cool ruddy brown desert dust that he'd collected on his way shaking off and peppering the furniture in a light grey film.
Hat tipped shadow bearing down upon the small figure of the Barman grimacing up to his new dark guest. a knowing grin spreading upon his face
'quein es?'
'bottle of scotch - best you got'
'Se Senora - not'ting to god for one eyed jodie - me dirty big fan - got loads of it up in the attic - you have look - plenty big fun.'
'Never mind him' Jodie swiftly turned to find an immaculately well-dressed Englishman smiling benignly back at him 'Ahh a Webley '45' The Englishman's eyes shining over the small ebony handle that protruded from jodys hip holster. Instinctively jody reached for it - the small cold clasp sliding familiarly beneath his skin. In a single faultless motion he drew it from his holster and shot The Englishman, biting smell of sulphur mixing deliriously with the yellowed camphor dust hanging heavy in the wind blowing back the Englishman who fell about laughing on the floor.
'Oh very good, ha ha damn fine fellow what what'. The Englishman picked himself up from the grubby black floorboards and extended his arm out towards jody who was saddling the gun back in its holster. Jody trained his one good eye upon the angular features of The Englishman an inane grin extending across his face in turn of war humour.
'I don't shake with the dead' Jody inclined his body back toward the bar his elbow leaning heavily upon the heavy dull mahogany. 'Oh I say old chap come come there's no need to be like that'. The Englishman stepped up to the bar and signalled for two scotches to the barman.
'Tell me, How long have you been here on Alpha-9
