This is gonna be real. I don't have any fancy, educational accolades, but I've been blessed with an extremely vivid imagination. At 47 years old, soon to be 48, I've decided to get some of these stories out of my head. With 3 novels under my belt and a plethora of short stories I feel it's time to share them with the world. I tend to gravitate toward street crime, but I can write in several genres as I hope you'll soon discover. Right now, Nate Hutchinson is my concentration; a Chicago homicide cop working out of the Uptown district. 'Who Killed Doll?' is the pilot of a series of short stories I hope you'll enjoy.

The police officer at the scene read the name of the victim from her driver's license as I knelt over her body. I was near tears.

A, Jennifer Coles, the young officer spoke.

Still in the kneeling position I massaged my temples. Doll, I said.

    What?

    Doll, her name is Doll.

    But her drivers lic.........,

I don't care what her license says her name is Doll!

The officer relented, raising his hands. He could tell I was annoyed. I stood back up.

    I know her, I said.

    Did you know her well?

I did, I said, glad that it was raining; a little heavier than drizzle falling from the pink clouds into
