    Preface

They got the gold mine and we get the shaft, the 1% of our America vs the 99% which is the rest of us.

We were taught, from the time we were little tots that stealing is wrong and you will be punished if you do it. If you lied your reputation would be ruined and you could be charged with fraud. Committing a crime with a gun is a felony and you could serve along time in jail. These are the rules you and I live by.

The owners of the gold mine (the 1%) live under a very different set of rules. That is why we are so angry.

There are 99% of us left out in this economy. We are looking at the greatest income disparity ever recorded in this country. It is not by accident. As more people gather in more places across the country and they share their stories. It is obvious that they all share a common thread. You have done all the right things to be successful, worked hard, went to good schools, excelled in school and yet the ladder of success has been pulled out of your reach. Those who were on the ladder are suddenly thrown off the ladder and that ladder is pulled out of their reach. None of this was by accident or your fault. All of this resulted from the deliberate actions and policies of the 1%.

This is why 99% of Americans are so angry. The owners of the gold mine (the 1%) who live under different rules have committed terrible, horrendous crimes. That 1 % lied to investors, mismanaged, gambled trillions of dollars in public and private funds. No one, not even one person has been charged with a crime. Our prisons are full of people who stole a lot less and are serving life sentences. The owners of the gold mine have ruined the world economy. They have destroyed millions and millions of lives and the dreams of millions of young adults. They have devastated young adults all over the world. They have no good future thanks to the owners of the gold mine. These crimes were committed with computers. Meanwhile the owners of the goldmine are laughing all the way to their second homes, flying their jets wherever they want to with the bail out money we gave them. Apparently it is not enough, they want more.

Many of us have spent the last three decades advancing our careers, raising families, paying down mortgages, volunteering to make our communities better places, saving for retirement, putting our children thru college. We were doing all the things we thought we should be doing to live a good life.

Meanwhile a tiny sliver of our population figured an easier way to get the gold mine and keep it for a very long time. They spent their money and resources investing in politicians. All kinds of them, federal, state, all kinds of judges and think tanks to train them. We have all watched Washington DC this year. It is more than clear to the rest of us who these politicians work for. It is not you and me.

If you are not angry, you are not paying attention. All throughout history all over the world there have been groups who always try to game the system in their favor.

This is our time to change what must be changed. Fundamental change always comes from
